Why are the rains so bad in this game?

I love rainy days but not in ESO because it's so bad. The atmosphere of the game is not bad in the last dlcs, but while the rainy atmosphere is an advantage, it is a disadvantage in this game. It doesn't feel like a raindrop and no rain sound. As far as I can see from my environment, most new players leave the game because they can't feel a good atmosphere in the first maps of the game.

Contrariwise, I LOVE the rain. It rains all the time in my game, even in the desert areas. Now we have monsoon this year where I live, and outside of a couple of real downpours, the general rain is fine drops that you don't really hear either - lots of times, I only realize it's raining because it starts running off the roof.

I really don't think most new players leave the game because of the rain/atmosphere. Maybe the ones you know do, but pretty sure that's not "most".

That sounds so fun with all the rain, i live in a desert where it hardly rains, i hate it. Loved living in coos bay where it rained almost every day.

I've never heard anyone say they are leaving the game because the raindrops don't make a sound.

Could be your anti aliasing setting. I noticed certain types yield blurred or even invisible rain. Turning it off or setting it to a different form yields much clearer and visible weather effects.

I would love more weather effects. Serious ash storms in morrowind areas that affect visibility, serious fog in swamp or gloomy areas, blizzards in northern mountain areas or heavy snow. I would also love rain to be like oblivion rain that was loud and rain HEAVY. Not that skyrim rain rhat was only dribbling

It depends on your sound settings and speakers. I finally got good quality PC speakers for basically the first time ever and a lot of games, including ESO seem to have a lot of sound effects I've never noticed before.

Also someone else mentioned anti aliasing and I agree it's worth trying turning it down or off. I don't see the appeal of it personally, it always makes things look blurry to me, but I suppose some people like that.

Maybe one person would. In another game's forum someone claimed their friend refused to play because they didn't like the sound one unique gun made.

OP I can guarantee the average person won't quit playing just because of the weather stuff in-game. Most people quit because they're either overwhelmed, bored, or just don't like the game overall.

That said I thought for sure this was going to be about how it rains indoors in a lot of places.

Love the rains in ESO but definitely check ur gfx card settings then the game’s gfx settings. Run at the highest settings you can handle (without killing performance if an older card) and see how things are setup and looking. Then hop over an open up your mixer/sound settings to try a few different preset eqs or adjust the sliders yourself. Entirely possible there’s separate software for your audio card that should have these features and more than that the barebones windows panels. If you can turn surround sound on and off give it a shot as well.

Uugh! The rains are awful. I wait the hour and half for the night to be over, then here comes the darkness again for the twice a day rain showers in Craglorn and Reapers March. Clearly not topography that sees rain more than once a week. MY IMMERSION!
