Armor repair not lore friendly

Hi all!
I think repairing armor is something ridiculous now.Two thoughts about repairing.

When I wear selfmade armor worth 40g, it's repair cost for half is 200g. It's nonsense, becouse I just can make the same new armor just with few (and free obtained) ingots.
So I can make a lot of new cheap armor, but can't repair any of it by myself and need to pay a 10 times more for repair then the cost of new item.

And second, the idea of smith that can't repair armor is awful! It's not lore friendly at all!!!

You can repair it yourself if you want. You just need to buy the materials - a repair kit. Sold by the trader.
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

Repair kits are more expensive than repairing the item at a smith, unless you died a lot. But at that point, it's also cheaper to just make new armor. I think at my current level, kits are 233 gold and they only repair 1 item.

Paying for repairs does not bother me much...It used to bother me but I guess I kinda got over it.

That being said, your points are spot on..a piece worth 40g should not cost 200g to repair. I made the darned thing...why can't I fix it (yes, yes rep kits but c'mon...).

They obviously can't increase the base values of our crafted gear to bring them more inline with the rep costs....because then we'd all be rich from selling 200-400g chest pieces to NPC vendors.

Dropping the repair cost even by half would be trouble as well....there is no risk vs reward in this game so they penalize use via our bank rolls..Run around and die a lot or neglect your armor condition and it will cost you...that's all they got on us. that is our gold sink....kind of shallow when you think about it 0_o

So yeah it is not very lore friendly and pretty silly from most other angles but it is the only thing in this game that impacts us/our character in a negative way.

I'd rather see armour durability go up so regular wear and tear from fighting is negligible, and then have harsh death penalties. So running around questing and not dying for two hours doesn't cost you all your quest rewards, the cost of the drops you made, and the life of your firstborn son.

Or, you know, tie in a lore-friendly gold sink (ie repair hammers and ingots, sewing needles and cloth, etc) and let us repair.
