[Suggestion] Purchase ESO+ with Seals of Endeavor

It would be nice to have the option to buy ESO+ with Seals of Endeavor. It can be with gold (as in WoW), but it may introduce more bot farming. Seals of Endeavor is account locked so it can not be gifted. This can also encourage more players to play. It is very easy to do finish the daily/weekly endeavor but ZOS can add more challenging additions to keep the player daily play time more with group activity to achive ESO+ monthly... What do you think?

    Free ESO+?
That will never happen outside of the occasional free week trials.

I'm not interesred in any of the cosmetics that can be bought with the seals. So this would be very welcome.

I'm sorry but eso plus can't be bought with gold? So I'm not sure where you're getting that?

I mean... It "could" be bought with gold. But selling gold for cash is frowned upon by the devs.

When endeavors came out I was under the assumption it was possible to get ESO+ with the seals, was dissapointed to find out that wasn't the case. Would be nice if they introduced a system that 21 daily and 3 weekly average seals (3 full weeks) allowed players to get ESO+, giving one week to save for something else a player may want.

OP, what is your supporting proposal for an alternative revenue stream for the company?

For revenue side my assumption is based on WoW. Even they have the option to buy game time with gold, there are millions of paid subs. most of the causal players will not bother endavours even with free ESO+. Actually Seals of Endeavor is not free you invest your time ;-D

My first thought too. I guess they'd raise the prices of Crown Store items.

Well, that's just an example of another company that operates such a thing in a different game, with no information on how it impacts them financially. It doesn't explain where any resulting shortfall in revenue would be made up in this game.

Maybe if it’s without the Crowns stipend. So just the crafting bag and DLC access etc.

I don't play WoW but a (very) short google search confirmed my assumption: you can't just buy a subscription for gold in WoW. Someone has to first buy a subscription token for real life money (revenue for blizzard!) and then that token can be sold for gold by one player to another player. Buying a subscription with just endeavour points would give zero revenue for ZOS. IOW: never going to happen.

Plus, WoW is a required-sub game to start with. So that guy buying a spare sub & selling it for gold is also paying his own sub. Really can't compare how WoW does it to ESO/b2p. It's not remotely similar.

(if I recall correctly, the "tradable sub token" also costs more than a regular month. Or did that change?)

It would be nice for players if this was an option, but it's very unlikely to happen.

The only reason Endeavours were added was because Zenimax was bought out by Microsoft and so had to comply with their policy on loot boxes - which is that everything in them can also be earned by playing the game. There's no comparable rule for subscriptions so there's no reason for ZOS to do it.

If they did do this, then you could expect a month of ESO+ to cost about 16'000 seals of endeavour, plus they'd cancel the free trials of ESO+ to compensate.

If everything in the game was free there would be no game. It's nice to wish ESO+ could be free, but then the game shuts down and we have to find something else to play instead.

Would be nice. But as with any of these ideas, the price that players have in mind is usually comically low compared to the price the developer wants to charge for it.

Doesn't matter for this conversation but people keep making this claim. If you read the Microsoft policy you will see it doesn't apply to existing content they purchase. It applies to future content being developed. So ESO doesn't have to follow Microsoft policy according to Microsoft policy.
Endeavors came about when some countries in Europe changed the laws for loot boxes. Endeavors makes it so the crown store complies with those new laws.

Not the ruin your hope towards this or anything, but ZOS just increased the prices of eso+ on my region by 3x, I doubt you are getting your free eso+ anytime soon.

It wasn't likely a ZOS increase per se, but a relative decrease in the value of your currency. As far as I know, the price is the same in the US, in spite of significant inflation here.

It is obviously related to my currecny, but it didn't lose value recently, our local curreny is sitting at pretty much the exact same value for almost a year now but we got a price change just today, it is not a small change price has literally went up three times.

Blizzard sells tokens for $20 to the player wanting gold, the player with gold buying the token in-game gets a month sub (~$15 value) or $15 store credit.

So Blizzard not only makes money off the service/subscription, they make a premium for handling the gold to RL$ exchange.

In any case, nothing remotely like the OPs suggestion of doing some activity in-game and getting free subscription time.

This is a nice thought but would NEVER happen they do what they can to keep people paying ESO+ that is why they have never put the craft bag in the crown store because around 70%+ of the community would buy the craft bag and never buy ESO+ again

They've inflated the number of crowns you get over the years. Crowns/gold for plus through player exchange may be viable but you won't get support if you get scammed I think (buying time cards, promising the #s if crowns transferred, etc).

Gold for plus is also viable using the blizzard model and gets rid of/minimizes the impact of the dirty RMTers.

I've always wondered why they don't sell trade-able versions of items in the store that could be sold in-game rather than allow / tacitly support (or at least don't go after) all the 'crown exchange' stuff.

I'd much rather buy store items for gold in-game than deal with all the 'crown exchange' mark-ups and / or potential scams in the current 'trust me I'll send it' system.

Then again, they still have one of the worst in-game marketplace systems and the player-to-player trade system is equally terrible compared to other games.

Seems like built-in inconveniences and systems that are easy to scam others are features, not bugs.

But ZOS needs to earn real money, so you know... this would not do.

Also, Endeavours are a means to bypass legal regulations on banning loot boxes.

The fact is, ZOS didn't do it for us, but for them - yet, ofc, we do profit. Just... not too much.
