I'm wondering if any thought has been given to the idea of DOT spread mechanics attached to certain base class-kit skill lines, as well as what other people think about it? I returned from a 6 month break and have noticed that DOT builds, mag dot builds especially, in PVP are more often worthless compared to burst damage, and suspect it will get worse for PVP and even PVE if these patch note changes go through.
I would love to see something like this for each class:
Sorcerer Streak spreads shock or physical damage sticky DOTs to any enemy hit, so long as it hits a target with said DOT. For example, if streak hits someone with shock reach on them, then it spreads to all other people hit by streak.
Dragonknight Burning talons direct damage spreads fire or poison damage sticky DOTs to any enemy hit, so long as it hits a target with said DOT. For example, if talons hits someone with burning embers on them, then it spreads to all other people hit by burning talons.
Templar Vampire's bane can spread to all enemies hit within the radius of solar barrage, and vampire's bane applies this way deal 50% more damage and apply burning status effect.
Nightblade Sap essence spreads all magic and disease damage stick DOTs to an enemy hit, so long as it hits a target with said DOT. EX: If an enemy has crippling grasp on them, it spreads.
Warden Fetcher infection spreads to enemies hit by subterranean assault. All cases of fetcher infection applied this way deal 50% more damage.
Necromancer Any target affected by direct area damage of a blastbones explosion have all single target DOTs applied by the caster on the original target, also have them spread to them. Targets are also burned for 4 seconds.
