Hi
@ZOS_GinaBruno,
I wanted to share a recent bad experience I had with the ZOS Crown Showcase, the Crown Store, and Customer Service. A large part of the experience being negative for me is I felt I did everything I could reasonably due based on what I saw and knew, and ZOS was still unwilling to make it a positive experience with a positive outcome for me.
In the
July Showcase under Pets the Imperial Mastiff was advertised as coming out during Whitestrake's Mayhem, with no dates given. I assume dates aren't given since sometimes event start dates shift, but if the item wasn't going to be up the whole time it could have said what days of the event it would have been available instead.
On July 28th after Whitestrake's Mayhem had started I was looking through the crown store to see if the Imperial Mastiff was up as well as to check on an imperial costume I didn't expect to be up because it wasn't listed in the showcase, but just in case. I saw neither item, and I figured the Mastiff would be listed later during the event.
August 2nd, on the 5th day of the event, I saw a player with the Imperial Mastiff in game, and I figured it might be up in the store (I do know they could have obtained it at a different time) and didn't see it in the store. I also noticed that the August Showcase had been posted, and the Imperial Mastiff was not mentioned, so I made a post
here on the forums asking if I missed it. One kind soul said it had been up, then checked and posted it was gone.
I immediately placed a ticket (220803-002171) hoping ZOS would help me. I explained the situation, they escalated the ticket, I was told they couldn't help, but I could request an exception, I did, and today I was informed they wouldn't grant it. I had asked what days it was up and was never given that information. Had the showcase had exact dates I could have known exactly when to look. If I wasn't seeing it due to a bug or glitch I could have reached out for help when it was available. I never expected an event item would be up for less than 5 days. I will admit that was my mistake and inexperience since that was the case. I see most limited time items up 7-14 days.
At this point I'm not mad, but I am confused, frustrated, and disappointed. Why couldn't ZOS have given the exact dates it would be available so I could be extra sure I would get it? Why not have it available the entire duration of the event like most of the other Imperial items seem to be? Why wouldn't ZOS help me when I was clear what I did to try and get this item? What is required to meet this threshold to be granted an exception? Why are minor items like this just not listed full time in the store? Seriously, I have my master's degree in this field and not selling items just because it isn't the right day is silly. There isn't even FOMO if you don't know when to buy the item.
I don't expect much to come of this, but I wanted to share what happened anyhow because I think this is a very avoidable negative experience that doesn't need to happen around what is supposed to be a fun and entertaining activity.
