How are people forfeiting with no penalty!?

How!? They should be banned for exploiting some bug!
6 times in a row. Queued. The same guy kept quitting during the pick a deck. Or don't the penalty actually start until all decks are picked? I'm confused

They probably logged onto a different character. Like dungeons or battlegrounds the penalty only applies to one character. There is also no penalty if the game has gone on longer than 10 minutes.

No this guy quit, Re queued 5 times in a row. Immediately. Every time I queued again. I got the same person. Picked the same deck. Each time he quit just before the match started.

So many people quit it's ridiculous. There's more salt than pvp, a 100 acre salt mine and a salt factory put together. :D

Is there no penalty if a player quits before the match starts?

And maybe he kept quitting because of the deck you kept choosing.

Yes that seemed to be the case. Every time was the same deck

Was the deck Orgnum or Rajhin? After a bad losing streak yesterday I thought I'd try one more game, but when my opponent choose the Orgnum deck I just left and logged off.

I chose Hlaalu. They picked red eagle then Duke and I chose orgnum. Each 5 times we all picked the same each time and resulted in the other person ending game before it starts.
No matter who chooses what deck. Still confused how they didn't get a penalty. I tested it and got a penalty after leaving a game during the deck picking screen. Baffled

I'm pretty sure you choosing Orgnum is why they kept leaving, but I don't know how they weren't getting a penalty if you did. Maybe report this as a bug.

How? Exploiting a poorly designed system.
Elseweyr: Invite a player to duel, you are a ranged only build. Opponent is a DK with the old school wings and flexes them before the start timer goes to zero You run away out of the duel zone and the forfeit counts as a win for the DK results in no win or loss. Problem? Cards was a major selling point of a chapter lol. It's hard to believe, or is it?

He should of got the implemented pentalty. Simply.
That's the consequence of quitting rather than playing the game you queued for.

Yet he didn't. Wether that's something he done or a bug in the system is questionable.

This highlights what's wrong with people in today's society. People would rather suck up the 10 minute penalty (those who don't know how to cheese out of it) than let the opponent finish the win.

Finish what win??? Why should anyone start a match that is already a foregone conclusion? There shouldn't be any decks balanced so horribly that you both know who's going to win before a single card is dealt.

This isn't like someone quitting on the last turn because they realized they were going to lose and didn't want to let their opponent finish their final move (which actually happened to me today). This is someone refusing to even start a match they don't feel is fair. That's completely different.

No, myself and I'm sure many others have won against others spamming orgnum, spamming bewilderment cards etc it's not an excuse. Matched with the unbalanced, unfair rng.

Do you run away from a fight if the guy has bigger muscles than you? Or taller than you? Does an army retreat if the enemy has a bigger army or bigger guns?
If someone doesn't want to play a certain deck. Because they think it's an unfair deck.
What about the unfair rng where the opponent has cards falling in their lap at every turn?

Yes he has a right to forefeit. That's what's it's there for. But! He should of got the penalty. Not being able to queue up again and again instantly. More to the point.

But other than the initial post I'm also talking about opponents quitting in general. It happens 90% of matches played.

You get to end game. They realise they can't win. All they have to do is just end their turn. Takes a second.
But no... They would rather stick one up on you by forfeiting. And I'm sure most people know by now that there's a bug and if someone forefeits. Sometimes it doesn't count towards your daily quest. Therefore having to queue and play another game. So people do this on purpose just to be **** that's sad.

Obviously, he should have got the penalty since they give one. But, Orgnum is busted and he's not a sore loser for quitting a match that he wasn't losing. Orgnum is obviously busted and it's getting nerfed next patch. It completely warps the gameplay and it's not a wonder some people just don't want to play against it and would rather eat the 10 minutes.

I do agree, but the same basis for other unbalanced decks and unbalanced Rng.

But the most forefeits I have encountered is during end game over 40 prestige. When they realise they can't win.

I've got the penalty for accidentally leaving before any cards were picked, so I don't think you're supposed to be able to leave at any point and not get the penalty.

Yeah it's strange, I can't figure it out. He queued instantly so there was no time to close app, log back in on a different character.
I tried whispering asking them asking, but they was appearing offline.

The worst thing is that the game is designed to privilege quitters. They receive rewards and the player that was winning can't even have the victory validated for the daily quest. And now the same is happening on ranked too.

It's really weird because this has been reported non stop since release and I never saw an answer to this problems.

A couple of weeks ago I argued with one of those players exploiting this bug, he reported me for it and I received an official email from zos warning me that I could lose my 8-year account with all DLCs fully paid and ESO Plus for doing that... I was shocked, and I'll never try to talk to a suspected cheater again. So... be careful of what you say if you ever try to communicate with one of those systematic quitters -- they seem to know what they are doing.

Do you choose Orgrum every game, because that greatly increases the chance that the other player may leave the match because of how overpowered the deck is. Try choosing other decks and I believe this will become less of an issue.

No I hate it. I only chose it because that same player beat me in a previous match spamming it.
The difference was they played their turn first. When I chose it. It was my turn first and I think that's what that player didn't want was me going first to get the upper advantage. It's rare I choose this patron.

Stop playing Orgnum. I have no sympathy. The other guy was right and I would leave every time just like he did.

The 10min penalty is only for that toon, you can easily switch characters after forfeiting and safely find another game. It's not an exploit, just a mechanic. It's no different than the Dungeon and Battlegrounds finder. If you leave that game, only that toon is penalized, switch toons and it's all good.

I'll forfeit matches when I recognize the player's name from previous toxic matches or their first pick is Orgnum, then switch toons to do a PVP daily on that character while the other one cools down then switch back and so on if I do feel the need to concede more matches I deem unwinnable. In this way there is no penalty what so ever for forfeiting, which there shouldn't be in the first place. It's called "CONCEDE MATCH" which means I legitimately accept defeat, gimme my L and take your dub, move on to the next game. Instead they expect us to just suffer through an unwinnable game just killing the vibe.

No one should be punished for accepting a legit defeat so I refuse to be penalized and other toons is the solution to that

One issue with the queue is how common it is to play the same player multiple time. Sometimes it’s a good idea after a match to wait a few minutes to requeue to avoid this

Ohh whoops my bad, I'm afraid I'm not sure about, there's no way to requeue on the same toon as far as I'm aware so that specifically has to be a bug or some exploit that people aren't choosing to share

I encountered this bug today. I'm not sure what happened but I was able to requeue instantly after quitting a match, and then got placed against the same person. I quit again and the next time got the penalty I deserved.
