This obviously can be changed with addons, but for those of us on consoles and for PC players as well, would you like to see a new fresh UI update? Or at least more customizability?

It's a Bethesda game, the UI being terrible is a feature. /sarcasm

Seriously though, I agree they should provide more options in the base game to allow console users and those that dislike using addons better flexibility and options.

Sadly though, I couldn't begin to give you a list as I full-on replaced and modified nearly everything in the UI with add-ons, so it would be one long list.

Maybe they could do what other game developers do - look at the most popular add-ons and work from there.

PC. I generally prefer minimal ui, but would not want to play ESO without minimap and inventory addons. And for things like writs, addons are a too massive convenience to ignore.

As long as they were options you could toggle on and off.

Things like a minimap, an icon for food timer, Pelinal XP timer, and other event XP timers.

I think it’s called Map Pins, the thing that shows node locations and treasure chest locations would be highly useful on console.

I would like that ZOS find a way to implement into the game the most used addons, so that:
    - We don't bother anymore at every changes/updates/lib issues...
    - We don't depend anymore on a 3rd party that has no obligation else than own good will.
    - There is no more grey zone "use at own risk" (would then be a true part of game content).

Personally, I wouldn't play ESO without addons and it's a little worry I always have on the back of my mind. What on the day ZOS decide that 3rd party programs are too much a bother and cancel them? Or/and what on the day one - or more - of the owners - especially those of the most used addons - decide to stop? And so on...

There is too much uncertainty and I would very much preferred to have the UI updated with some of them as true part of the game content in a soonest possible future.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

Yes there are a lot of things that needs to be updated in the base UI.

(I play on stadia so no addons)

Just from the top of my head:

    - Minimap
    - Role icons above each player in a group
    - Visual light attack weaving/animation canceling feedback
    - Quests only checkbox automatically checked when on a quest for that specific crafting station
    - Ability to default No bank items on deconstruct menu instead of having to reset it every time you log in
    - Hireling materials directly to craft bag for eso+ members (Getting them via mail is such a bad design)
    - Ability to select many items at the same time in the deconstruct menus
    - In combat indicator on the main game screen, and not just red flashing when in a UI menu.
    - Real time DPS gauge/counter
    - Search field for food and drink recipes when in the cooking crafting station menu.
    - Completely redesigned UI for making potions/poisons/enchantment so that you don't have to remember/google each receipt every time.
    - Armour/weapon and skills preset UI so that you can quickly change setup. (Lightweight version of the armory that only include skills/morphs you have active and armour/weapons that are in your inventory, but that you can use anywhere at anytime outside combat.)
    - Ability to search for a guild via name
    - Ability top empty and delete many/all mails at the same time
    - More than 5 guilds
    - Ability to hide everything related to tales of tribute from the game
    - Ability to filter for receipts/motifs that you don't know in guild shops and guild banks
    - Ability to filter for set items you have not yet collected in the guild shops and guild banks
    - Ability to hide any armor item, and not just the helmet.
    - Search for a skill in the skill tree

This is a list of things I'm currently using addons to do which I think could be built into the game itself:

    1) An option for players to show the mini map which ZOS created and which is currently hidden. It's still in the game and some addons minimaps work just by turning it on again, so it's clearly possible to use it and to give players the choice, we just need a way to do that without a separate addon.

    2) The ability to move and resize each part of the HUD. Azura does this, and it's really useful. I actually use it to make a lot of things smaller and less obtrusive - for example notifications are in small text above my chat box instead of dominating the middle of the screen, but it can be used to make things bigger as well.

    3) The option to colour your targets name to show if they're an enemy, allied NPC etc. rather than using glowing outlines. I know it's a very small change but I much prefer the colour coded names Azura and some other addons use to the base games option of glowing outlines because I find it less obtrusive.

    4) A favourites list for collectibles. This has been requested many times, because there's so many collectibles it can be hard to find the ones you want, or just annoying to scroll through the whole list to get to them. I use IsJusta Favorite Collectibles which adds a section to each category for ones you've marked as a favourite, so they're always at the top of the list and it makes it so much easier.

    5) The ability to click on one of the options when crafting to get a drop-down list of all your options. Votan's Crafting Quick Access does this and I find it really useful, especially for styles which don't seem to be in any particular order. Instead of scrolling through the list one at a time I can click on the word style, then click on the one I want from the list. (I have to admit I'm not sure how this would work for the gamepad UI, I'm not sure it would be any quicker given you'd still have to use a thumb stick to scroll through the list.)

There's probably others I'm forgetting. Whenever possible I pick UI addons which blend in seamlessly to the base game, and both the benefit and downside of doing that is it's easy to forget that function comes from an addon. But those are my top 5 from memory.

I play on PC without any addons, and am fine with the minimalist UI as is. I appreciate some would like certain addon features added into the base game, not least for console players, but in my view any changes to the UI should be entirely optional.

I wouldn't mind some things being refreshed, but I appreciate the minimalist approach to the UI. I think overall, the UI is pretty well done.

I'd like options to toggle on:
    1. Mini-map. Toggle on, off, and some location options.
    2. Skyshard indicators after discovered.
    3. Skill line/Experience bar. If I'm leveling a skill, I'd like to select one skill to show on the HUD so i can focus on it.
    4. Attributes presentation. Much like ultimates, I'd like the ability to display attributes as numbers, numbers and percents, and just percent.

Would help lots to reduce the playgap. Plus, if they did not wish to LA weave, this feedback would not need to show up, as it wouldn't get triggered by actions. Or, it could remain as an "Advanced Combat" toggle for subtle UI-with-feedback changes.

To be fair, I would not like it to look like say, FF either. FF is too clunky for me.

I gotta be fair too, tho: most of what I have seen proposed are not big changes; more already-popular QoL updates that could be toggled on and off.

For example, role icons over group members would have a toggle just like "show nameplates" or "show alliance" does/would.

Minimap is perhaps the most popular addon. This could also be toggled, much like existing features already can. The last that I checked, one popular minimap was at 2,755,233 downloads.

Search by name is a small shift to the Friends or Party search by adding a searchbar, or making the existing searchbar more functional.

Delete bulk mail or autodelete is an option along the bottom of the Mail interface.

LA weave feedback is as simple as gently fading the skill icon to black and white. It slowly fades to color when it is ready to use again. For the weave, perhaps a small, light flash near the skill bar when a LA can be pressed. Don't like it? Untick "Show Advanced Combat Indicators." Or, select which Advanced Combat Indicators to use.

For many of these, it would not be a big shift, and much of it could be toggled. The smallest change can be the biggest QoL.

I would not like the interface clunky, either. I don't think many of these would add overmuch to the UI, though, and if they did, the toggle system is robust enough that if a player wasn't into say, a minimap, they could easily turn it off.

...but at the same time, it would save on those 2,755,233 downloads.

Seems more outdated and clunky to me, but to each their own.

As for the OP. These changes will never happen in this game.

I'd really like the UI to be along the lines of Perfect Pixel. It's neat, it's clean, it uses the screen realestate well.

The only downside to the addon is that there are several UI elements (e.g. crown store and housing) which it does not cover, and various addons need additional support.

I knew I was forgetting some. Here's a few other things I'm currently using addons for which I think could be base game additions.

    1) The option to filter the list of all active scrying leads so those with a time limit are at the top.

    2) More filters for the world map icons. It's already possible to choose which types of icons are shown or hidden, but not in as much detail as I'd like, so I'm using an addon to improve it. In my case I've hidden dungeons, trials and unowned houses, all of which the base game classifies as wayshrines (meaning they can't be hidden without also hiding all the actual wayshrines).

I find it interesting (but entirely unsurprising) that most of the objections to making changes to the UI are based on the assumption that it has to mean adding more to the HUD, when aside from requests for an (optional!) minimap most of the suggestions are either to make things more customisable (so changes, not additons), more minimal than they already are or changes to menus.

Just thought of one more thing, for colorblind players there is an option to change enemy color I think (sorry not in game right now) but it is only aoe damage area. There needs to be an option to change the outline color of the enemy too, it is still red and can’t be seen if you are red/green colorblind.

This, noone should ever be agaisnt changes like these, honestly colorblind mode needs to go beyond JUST outlines, theres filters that can be applied over whole games for diffrent types of blindness that would be an amazing add

Personally I want the UI to be as minimalistic as possible. The basic UI provides this, although I would like to be able to see all 10 skills at the same time.

I'm highly against the add-on UI bloat.
