Does Zoal's proc Horthgar's Chill?

Asked around a lot and haven't gotten a definite answer on this. This may actually be a viable set pairing. Zoal's is pretty much used defensively even though it provides weapon/spell damage. It'd be nice to see the fear from the set proc some damage with Hrothgar's Chill.

As far as i know stuns from Sets shouldn't procc Hrothgar - at least it was as this for example for Dark Convergence.

Hmmm, I guess I'm going to have to spend the mats and test this out in game. I know Elf Bane and Zaan used to work together, then Zaan got a slight nerf and it fell out of favor. Not sure if it still works or not.

elf bane has a specific line excluding tethers and channeled skills

they also have this thing about procs not procing other procs, so for the OPs question likely no

originally it was broken and not being affected by battle spirit, then they fixed it (-50% from battle spirit applying) and then nerfed its dmg by another 50%, so its only about 1/4 as strong as original

ive still seen it on some niche stam sorc builds because streak procs it, but it only does appreciable dmg against high armor people

They do work together still, tested just now.

I used this combo for testing of both sets back when both were new and Hrothgar was OP, it was fun. Probably not so much anymore with damage as low as it is.

Since Elf Bane was mentioned, it still works with Grothdar and Domihaus, giving them close to 100% uptime.

They "fixed" majority of interactions, not all of them.

Hmmm, well maybe we'll get lucky and Zoal's can proc Hrothgar. I'm still farming Zoal's, or I'd tell you guys what I found.

I have to get the right weights for my sets. I feel like if I'm going to give it a fair shake, I have to go for a good build with it.
I've been getting zerged down by tanky small groups in Imperial City, so I'm going to try.

Dark Elf, Lover Mundus.
Skills,
Quick Cloak, for Major Evasion and Major Expedition, and some aoe dot damage pressure.
Resistant Flesh, for Burst Heal and increased armor.
Guardian Mendor, for Hot Heal and 10% damage reduction.
Blastbones, Delayed Burst damge.
Poison Skill, Spammable Dps pressure, and rely on increased crit chance with 20% increased damage on 3rd cast for Execute damge. (this is hard to time and line up when getting pounded on by several people, lol, but I only got 5 skills, so sacrifices have to be made).
ULTIMATE, Thrive In Chaos, Keeps me alive with heal return, increased damage when fighting up to 6 people, increased damage when enemy is stunned, (ie Zoal's)

Basic Strategy,
Take a stun from the enemy to proc Zoal, stun the enemy, then turn and burn the enemy group with Thrive in Chaos (increased Stun damage) while the Ult heals me and hopefully Hrothgar procs on 4-6 tanky stunned dps trying to zerg me down. Punishing at least one, maybe two of them for being zerglings. 8-P

Chest, Hrothgar Heavy Reinforced, Tri Stat.
Shoulders, Zoal, Medium Impen, Tri Stat.
Hands, Song of Lamae, Medium Well Fitted, Tri Stat.
Waist, Trainee Set, Light Well Fitted, Tri Stat.
Legs, Song of Lamae, Medium Well Fitted, Tri Stat.
Feet, Song of Lamae, Medium Well Fitted, Tri Stat.
Necklace, Hrothgar, Protective, Tri Stat Reduced Cost Glyph
Ring, Mythic, OakenSoul, Protective Tri Stat Reduced Cost.
Ring Hrothgar, Protective, Weapon Damage Glyph.
1 Hand Mace, Hrothgar, Nirnhoned
1 Hand Mace, Hrothgar, Sharpened

This will be my test, hopefully it works. I have a lot of passives (Necro Passives, Duel Weild Passives, & Armor Passives) that all line up to make if happen if the sets will work together.

Okay guys I tested it and its ineffective. It looked like it was working, but it was still ineffective damage wise. ZoS has the rule that Proc sets can't proc other sets, however there is an exception to this rule. If a base combat mechanic is the cause of the first proc, then it can proc another set in some instances. I'm not going to go so far as to say it works every time.

makes sense, as the procs are not directly chaining each other

zoal is triggered when you cc break, which stuns, and its the stun that triggers hrothgar

i think the issue is that hrothgar itself is too weak to really be effective on anything other than a tank, which is not going to be the one ganking you lol
