Bait and switch - glad I didn't buy the chapter and grind out all those leads, now I can just wait and pick up High Isles in the discount bin.

It's easy enough to get the major buffs without ring(slot skills, gear, skill abilities,WW),the minors are a little harder to get solo. This makes it better for PVE solo players.I always thought they'd make ist all minor before it went live,I even suggested it in pts.

Do not nerf the ring. It's not overpowered in PvE. I wasn't able to do maelstrom or vateshran but now I can with it. It's balanced as is. Large parts of the community are also using it which shows we all agree it's balanced. [snip]

    [Edit for Bait.]

The ring was simply OP in pvp and pve. It NEVER should have been released as it was.

The PvE players crying about the nerf are simply bad players. nothing more, nothing less.

The real issue with this patch is how the devs have butchered every class except NB and Cro.... its almost like the devs dont understand the game their designing.

Yeah dude, it's omega op in pve lol. If ppl can parse higher with Oaken then you with a two bar setup I'm sorry to tell you that obviously you have disqualified to be taken serious XD

I just want to see the outcome of the poll
Well that was not surprising. Now you need to thorouhgly test it on PTS and report your experiences, issues encountered and suggestions to be ignored before it will go on live as is.

They shouldn't be adding minor mending. The ring will still be grossly OP.

for me this was the greatest support option for solo PVE. If you hate it in PVP so add it to a blacklist with other items like you do in NO PROC campaigns…

I wonder if this set will still be abused by DKs/nbs to spam ultimates. Also, in pve it was really good solo & made things much much easier. I could literally sit there & hit strikes on my magplar & do insane damage. Something about being able to do that did make me think it needed to be adjusted in pve as well as pvp. In pvp it was op & made ult spamming & nbs hit insanely hard & in pve it made content much easier than it should be. Great adjustment.

I still wonder if this will out preform 2 bar setups in pve solo content & if in pvp it will still be better to use for dmg over 2 bars. We will see

With the changes the ring is simply useless. The minor buffs are easy to get and do not in any way justify losing a entire bar.

I could have understood if they removed or nerfed the heroism buff, but not the others. But i guess most of the "chapter" Sales are in now so they can safely nerf the stuff in it.

Major Sorcery and Savagery are easily provided by pots wich you can hold up infinetly if you skilled medicinal use. The Ring will lose its right to exist if these nerfs go live and will just be another item no one is going to use.

For those who don't know, the following changes are coming:

The ring will now grant MINOR versions of Courage, Berserk, Force, Protection & Heroism buffs rather than MAJOR. It is ALSO adding MINOR Mending.

Major Courage = increases weapon & spell damage by 430 (MINOR does this by 215)
Major Berserk = increases damage done by 10% (MINOR does this by 5%)
Major Force = increases critical damage done by 20% (MINOR does this by 10%)
Major Protection = reduces damage taken by 10% (MINOR does this by 5%)
Major Heroism = gain 3 ultimate every 1.5 seconds (MINOR grants 1 ultimate every 1.5 seconds)
Minor Mending = increases healing done by 8%

I've absolutely loved using this ring in PvE. It's been fun to spice it up but I can absolutely see how this ring would cause nightmares in PvP - I wish they could find a way to balance PvE and PvP separately, but alas they have not.

The build that I have been using currently with Oakensoul in PvE and have been loving is:
    - 1 piece Slimecraw
    - 5 piece Pillar of Nirn (used Order's Wrath until this was farmed out)
    - 5 piece Tzogvin (this will change to probably Relequen/Kinras in the upcoming patch based on the changes)
    - Oakensoul ring
**If you have any ideas for cool builds (I'm on stamblade) I'd love to hear those as well! Cheers

No, because I spent a couple mil making sets that had the minor components to it. Now they're worthless or the ring is worthless to me lol

Even with the nerfs, Oakensoul is still a very viable item. Especially when you can still stack buffs. The changes just put it more in line with what it was actually supposed to be, which according to Zos is an item to help with "accessibility". It still helps with buff management and apm, without being op, and is still encouraging of players to learn mechanics.
there will always be a complaint about something being overpowered in pvp. always. nerf this and they will move right along to complaining about the next thing.

they say they cant balance between pvp and pve but if that is the case just make it so it cant be used in pvp instead of making the entire player base suffer. i'll get hate for this from pvp'ers - and while i understand that you are also part of the player base - youre a much smaller part of it and while it is not necessarily your fault, we do have to suffer because you complained about it.

You are right in that PvPers are part of the community. They put a lot of time and money into the game (some of the biggest ESO streamers are PvPers), so they're not wrong for asking for changes on items that are completely imbalanced for that content. You cannot blame PvPers for ZOS' business model, or the fact that they can balance things separately (ex. Slayer/Aegis buffs, Battlespirit) but choose not for whatever reason. Players need to stop putting the blame on other communities who have no control over the decisions regarding balancing.

I'm a casual player, and I still managed to get through vet hm content without ever having access to Oakensoul's pre-nerf buffs. It will be OK. That being said, I do think they could've added buffs like Slayer and Aegis to keep it more enticing for PvErs. Either way it's still a good option for players.

Maybe they could add a new buff „Mayor complaining“ which is only active in PvP areas.

For PVE the ring needs no change and should not be changed.

This ring finally garnered me my first vet Vateshran clear, and I was hoping to try to get the remaining achievements for the Undying Song title, as well as try to clear it with one or more of my other characters.

I recently just dug this up and started casually leveling a magdk for solo stuff for when I could equip it. My motivation to level that character has significantly decreased in the past 24hrs. I'm hoping many of the first pass PTR modifications are on the extreme end and subsequent updates before release tone them down. 😐

Just had to decrease dmg vs players when orkensul is equiped by like 10% but i guess pvp has to ruin pve once again.

Granted a Minority of players were skipping boring arena mechs thnks to the ring

I also really do not like what ZoS is doing to disabled/older players. This Ring made harder content accessable to them and now they get kicked out again for something that is not their fault.

I am really sorry for you guys.

The Ring was also nice for myself especially in the evening hours of CP Cyro when Barswaps cause 4 second black bar- lockout until you can use them again.

I can understand that major heroism was a _Little_ to strong, but instead of making slight adjustments, they just make it plain useless. I am so sad and so demotivated to do anything in this game anymore. Every Patch i have to get new Gear and pay millions of Gold if i wanna gold it out.

It was such a great mythic item. Why couldnt ZOS just forbid mythic items completely in PvP and everyone would have been happy. :'(

I literally only used it on my unarmed tank, whose sole purpose in life is to punch dragons. It has been a godsend of an item in that regard.

Now, I can still facetank them without it, but it was a hell of a lot more fun with all those major buff. Now I'm not so certain it's worth sacrificing a whole bar for.
