I also have nothing to do with Amazon, and cannot log in to either the game or the accounts website.
Initially, I freaked out and thought my account had been hacked despite a very secure password
I lost power to the house while I was in the middle of playing, and when power was restored I tried to log-in.
NOPE. "Maybe your account doesn't exist or is inactive?"
So I initiate a Repair, thinking the outage borked something on my computer, and while that was running, I saw the Prime thing, so I tried to link my accounts, but the ESO website said my account page couldn't be found.
So, I've been sitting here thinking that maybe the power outage corrupted my account, or something.
I very much doubt it's the act of linking accounts that has caused the issue, because not everyone is going to participate.
It's the sheer number of people trying to do it all at once that likely overwhelmed the authentication servers to the point of crashing, so NOBODY can log in.
