I’m not sure; curious if you can go down a rank. However, you should keep playing to reach the max rank. I have a feeling that achievement will get harder as more and more people learn the game in future seasons.

Ranks are like checkpoints, once you get there you don't go lower.

Also, at this point (once you get Rubedite) I think you would have to win a ton of matches to ever see your score gain after that. I started out at like 1014th place and I win better than half my matches and I've dropped to about 1080 since then. I've won as much as 4 or 5 in a row and never gained a number in my rank.

edit: I know I've gotten 3 in a row since Rubedite but I only think I could have gotten 4 or 5 once, maybe,,,,, they all kind of blur together.

I managed to hit 0 in voidsteel after getting stomped a few games, but I never went down a rank.

You will keep the achievement for ever, but during the season, if you play ranked games, I think you can indeed go lower if you lose, so for eg., if someone is aiming for rubedite so they can enter the leaderboard afterwards, they will have to win even more games to compensate for the loses and be able to progress.

I haven't ever lost a rank and I've lost several games after already being dropped to zero points and/or progression. Zero is the best starting place for a run though, at least for me. The first win is 200 points then 100 and then after that wins stack points I've gotten up to I think 400 for a win. It doesn't take many wins to level up if you can luck up and get a run.

Once I reach Rubedite and win the trophy I still play but I don't care as much if I loose because I know I can't spend the time to stay in the leader board. The farming mats with defeat boxes and the occasional wins are good enough for me.
