Character stuck in the ground forever?

So here's a marvellous situation.
After burying some poor knight on high isle as part of a delve quest my character is stuck in the ground, bouncing around. And for some reason the movement is being taken as spamming input so I get kicked out for hitting message rate limit. I cannot get unstuck before I get kicked, I cannot travel out, I cannot submit a ticket before it kicks me from server. The character is unuseable.
This is a major character, which I do all the things on and it's effectively dead due to clipping.
How do I even begin to get this resolved @ZOS_Kevin ?

I take it you already tried all the usual remedies for input problems? If not, try:

1. Restarting the PC/Console.
2. Removing any USB-based input devices and plugging them back in.
3. Switching controller/mouse & keyboard for another device.
4. Logging in in a different device to see if it still happens despite entirely different input.

No specific order.

Edit: also, something similar happened to a friend once, because his gearing addon got bound to the mouse button. Maybe that could be the problem.

Submit a ticket from your browser rather than trying to do it in game - hope it gets sorted quickly for you!

It's not an input problem though? The character is clipping into the ground so fast that the server thinks its spamming, and kicks before any remedial action can take place.

I can enter the menu and select get me unstuck and it will start doing it but before it works I am kicked for hitting message rate limit.

Which is why you need to submit a support ticket outside of game, asking them to move your character to a wayshrine or other safe location.

Truthfully I have no idea how the message limit works in this specific game beyond the basic principles of client-server interaction. Still, I wouldn't discount an input issue of some kind without at least disabling the keyboard if on PC, or using another controller on Console.

Maybe you can try slotting the Mages Guild skill Equilibrium and see if you manage to kill yourself before getting kicked.

Sorry for the double message, but if you were in a delve, and assuming you get enough time and no NPC aggro, you could simply enter Cyrodiil, and port from there to a wayshrine.

Here is how you submit a support ticket outside of the game if you are on a PC (I do not know what the screen looks like on a phone or other platform though).

At the top of this page, ie the top of the forum, on the left, you will see GAME ACCOUNT STORE FORUM SUPPORT

Click on SUPPORT.

A page will come up with common issues, like a faq.

Ignore that and scroll down, you will see a red button that says "SUBMIT A TICKET"

Click on that and report the issue using that, explaining the situation and asking for your character to be moved.

When I fall indefinitely, putting in a ticket and having a GM move the character is the only way out. You can use another character to do the ticket just mention the name of the specific character that's having trouble. Until its resolved, play an alt.

Oh god I’ve had this happen on console myself, wish I remember how I got past it but I think I ended up logging in one day and was outside the area I kept falling.

To everyone saying to port/etc. you literally have no time to pull that off. The message rate kick i’m guessing is a ton of system messages being sent rapidly in the background with errors causing to kick from spamming i guess. Again, mine just sort of resolved itself, but try the ticket outside the game. Hope it works out for you…sad to see your main in an endless loop of purgatory

Just an update, after a lot of attempts, I managed to get into menu quick enough to get unstuck to a wayshrine just in time before I was booted from server.

Equilibrium won't let you kill yourself; I play with this ability often and wish I could off myself on occasion with it. lol

Ah, dammit. I saw someone use some skill in a dungeon that ended up killing their toon (good thing it wasn't a no-death run). Maybe there's another one that works?
