The mods seem to be moving things to other sub forums lately.

Do you view forums other than this one?

NOTE: Thanks for all the other ways. I would have made the poll different had I known about them!

I don't do it enough to count. And threads they move basically never get further commentary. They need to stop moving threads so hastily, when they know full well that a lot of subforums are dead. And instead close out subforums that don't get used.

Somewhere between options 2 and 3. I've never checked ALL of the other forums, and I usually just check the General forum, but I do check some of the other forums from time to time-- mainly Crafting, Housing, Tales of Tribute, Bug Reports, and Mac Technical Support-- some more than others, but I'm trying to remember to check them on a more regular basis. I'm a lot more likely to check the other forums when the first page of topicscin the General forum are tiresome (to me) rehashes of the same old complaints, or topics that I'm not particularly interested in.

Top 4: General, Combat, Crafting, and Housing then sometimes PTS. However as of late with all the forced moving of threads to other forums to die is making me hesitant on posting new topics, it's like they want visitor traffic to go away. All this moving is having the opposite effect, it slows General Discussion down to a crawl and people are less likely to post imo.

I just use “recent” and assumed most everyone else did too. I’m honestly surprised by the number of people who voted that they often go to specific sub forums

I visit PTS when appropriate, combat often and sometimes lore, and the pvp subforums. I am very well aware that many people don't though. Most of the subforums are pretty dead and some of them are very dead. When I wake up to the 1st page of general discussion having 9 threads moved... I know those threads won't be getting even 20% of their former traffic.

These forums have way too many unnecessary categories. PVP has 4 entire subforums. Why? Does Tales of Tribute really need it's own subforum? Should we be making subforums for every new system introduced to the game? Why don't we have one for companions? One for antiquities?

Looking at the front page I see at least 2 threads that (imo) shouldn't have been moved at all. The discussion there was too "general" for them to be put into their specific subforums. And when it comes to Tales of Tribute, I'm not sure if making discussions of a new piece of content invisible is that good of an idea.

It's interesting that we don't have a "forum" subforum, we could move this thread there if we did!

I rarely check them anymore. And I once made the mistake of making a post in the corrct subforum (addons) to ask about and possibly inform people about ZOS breaking a beam me up function. Almost no one saw it - though happily the mod dev did - and boy that is one awesome trooper with great insight and dedication :) 3 weeks later someone else made a post about the exact same thing on general discussion and finally a lot more people got information about what had happened :D
Unless moderation starts enforcing the cetegory thing, and consequently move posts that are posted in wrong sections, traffic will remain low or decrease in the other subforums - sadly, as the categories are all very neatly done.

I come to the forum in between doing other things, so how far through it I get depends on how much time I have and how many interesting topics I find. I usually start with General Discussion then move on to other sections if I have time. Which ones depend on what I want to read about.

I think it makes sense to have seperate sections to make it easier to find what you're looking for when you want something specific, but I do think there's a few too many.

If it was up to me I'd merge:
    • Bug Reports with General Help. (Keep the seperate platform support sections.)
    • Community Creations with Fiction & Roleplaying.
    • All the PvP sections. (Merge PvP Combat and Skills into Combat and Character Mechanics.)

    And get rid of:
    • Quests and Exploration
    • Dungeons, Trials & Arenas.
    • Events and Contests.
(Keep the topics from each one, but move them into other sections.)

The mods seem to be moving things to other sub forums lately.

Do you view forums other than this one?

I sometimes engage in the PTS if something especially controversial is being cooked up and offered to the community. More often than not, I find the experience to be an exercise in futility and frustration, as seems to be the common sentiment of most PTS participants.

I'll also look at Players Helping Players, as it seems to be a calm oasis where people asking questions don't get flamed.

Very rarely I'll pop into the PvP forum if an event is on the near horizon and I want to look at survival builds.

I camp my list of participated threads and the Recent Discussions page, with occasional check-ins on the Dev Tracker. More rarely if I'm looking for something to do, I'll see if there's anything interesting that I haven't seen yet in the Fiction or Community Creations subforums.

I'm sure I miss a lot of stuff that doesn't happen to be front-and-center on Recent Discussions at the time when I'm looking, and sometimes I won't see a thread until it gets new posts well after the discussion started. But it is quite convenient having one place to look, and I'm more likely to see threads from various subforums that I wouldn't take the time to look through individually. On the flip side, though, if threads are moved to less active subforums, and subsequently get less activity, they're less likely to appear in Recent Discussions, so they can die before they even get a chance to live. *dramatic music swells*
