I know there's been many post on this subject, I think I've read them all and not to beat a dead horse, but I've have spent over 7 hours during the last two days farming alchemy every node I can find with no luck. Seriously ZOS, what gives? Why? Does this lead exist? Is it bugged? I don't know. All I know is, yesterday after work spent 4 hours farming with no luck, this morning I got up at 6am and its now 9:30am and nothing.... I'm just frustrated and needed to vent.

i do think the psychology at play here is pretty interesting. it's as if it's more comforting to believe that the drop is just bugged, as opposed to the player just having bad luck and needing to keep trying if they want to drop

ramble over. yea sorry, it's not bugged or anything as far as i'm aware, just gotta keep trying

Don't forget the water nodes to go along with your water plant farming. Some people have stated it took them over 20 hours and some over 1000 nodes.
If you are angry about anything in this game you are only punishing yourself.

I've tried for weeks to get the lead from Bal Foyen. At this point I've killed thousands and thousands of DC and no lead. I have given up, really at some point it's just not worth it. I realized that it had become a time sink I didn't want to invest in anymore.

I have gone after a number of mythics and antiquities, I really like scrying and this is the only one that I have had this problem with.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but pretty sure it only drops from water and alchemy nodes in Shadowfen, not Bal Foyen.

I think they're referring to another lead, one that drops from Covenant mobs in Bal Foyen.

Though I can't imagine killing DC ever getting old. ;D

Update - The lead dropped this morning after two hours. After my post from yesterday, I continued for another couple hours and then continued my efforts this morning. So combining my time, over three days, I spent roughly 11 hours. Happy to say I will not have to do this one again and to ZOS, this was not enjoyable.

Now to obtain the last one, which is running the Ruins of Mazzatun

    Cheers

Congrats! And good luck on RoM! This is the one I've been struggling to get! I was hoping by some how complaining about it, the game would hear me and finally give it up, but it hasn't yet! I feel the pain.

The silvercord lead has not dropped for me, nor do I expect it. I think that if you have a number of expired timers on a lead at some point it never drops again.

It took me a really long time to learn to scry and I've had a number of fairly common leads not drop if they were in an area that I frequented (and therefore had the lead drop and expire multiple times). Maybe a bug, maybe not.

I got it randomly while going to my Blacksmith Survey location, I was not even looking for it.

I know MMO's are a grind fest but ZOS takes it to the next level, I'm convinced they do this so they can show their investors how long people stay logged in and to keep server population up.

    Good luck!

While I agree this lead should have much easier rng, ESO's grind pales in comparison to other popular MMO's. Even if 11 hours was the norm for Wading Kilt, that's still way faster than other endgame/legendary gear in other MMO's, which can take months for a single item. In other games, it's like every item piece is a mythic, not just one.

Like I said, the drop should be made more easy. But I keep coming back to ESO for its comparatively forgiving and alt-friendly grinds.

    Just another perspective.

I feel bad because just this weekend I got the cord and the beads within a couple of hours of grinding. RNGesus was with me on Saturday.

(also I agree with the other commenter on eso being kinder; I used to play Neverwinter, and some of the grind for the Chult hunts was soul-destroying)
