Heck, if someone started saying please they would get trolled so hard.

It says a lot if people consider that a reason to troll someone (Who does that even? Is it "manners are so old-fashioned!!! löl" kiddies? I can't think of any reason why someone should be irritated by other peoples' politeness). Thankfully, I've gotten a different, more positive, impression about (a big percentage of) the ESO community so far.

It says a lot about the small number of people who troll, but not about the server population as a whole. Heck, I never indicated that the majority of the population would troll them.
Either way, I see the fact people do not please as a petty issue as they do say thank you, tyfg, and such. They do not lack manners to any degree. We see it all the time when a group finishes where at least one person in the group was a random pug. The overwhelming portion of the population does demonstrate manners and please is not required for that.
And to that, I will not be saying please as it is not necessary and I doubt anyone will refuse to invite me to a group as a result. Then again, I do not bother with general chat to begin with because it does not serve any benefit to me. I have gen chat turned off for a reason.

Jokes aside ESO chats are mainly very chilled and players help out each other a lot with tips and advice, especially new players.
Please hear me when I say that I think it is very rude of you to jump right into your rant and not politely introduce yourself and ask for our attention. It's also quite rude to end with "I know I'll get hate for this (and that says a lot)" rather than something like "thank you for reading this, what are your thoughts?" that would signal you see yourself as equal to the community rather than condescending over it.I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but why do most people leave a message in zone chat along the lines of...
LF vamp/werewolf bite...
?
Seriously, what does it take to say please and thank you when someone follows through? Does it take so long to type?
Maybe I was raised differently but if someone is going to save me $15 I'm definitely going to let them know how thankful I am.
I won't bite anyone with bad manners, but that's just me.

Searching for group members is one thing. To complete your group is of mutual interest. But if it's about vampire or werewolf bites, it's clearly only one person who profits, while it's only costing the other one time and effort. Politeness aside, I'm just wondering why the person who doesn't profit should put of with the hassle and loss of time if they don't even get a friendly word back for that.
Personally, I would find it unneccessarily impolite not to show gratefulness for something I asked for and got gifted by someone who didn't get anything for it. Some people wrote it would be so difficult to type - really? You just got something for free you'd otherwise have to pay 15$ or € for and you won't take the time and effort to time 2(!) or 3 letters (for "ty" or "thx")? Well, you do yours, but I find that quite hard to understand.
I knew it.I respect that most people no longer see it the way I do, but judging by the response, that respect hasn't been returned.Heck, if someone started saying please they would get trolled so hard.

Thank you for reading this, I hope it provides some insight into how to be polite, since you seem to value politeness a lot.
Have a good day.
