I think it's nice that they gave a makeup chance for those who missed the first 2 weeks, but it is a confusing way to set things up, though in fairness some of that is twitch's fault.
Even if ZOS was forced to do one at a time, they easily could have made the horse the first four hour drop.
I don't think any of the blame is Twitch's when they made it so easy not to make things work this way. They could have done a multi-drop campaign or they could have stuck with the single drop and just ordered the release order in a way that was fair. They had two options to do this in a way that made it player friendly, and instead they chose to not take them. That's entirely on them.
Certainly you can criticize the above but that is what they wanted to do and it's separate from the process being annoying or tedious.
I'm a little irritated. I bought grim harvester when it came out and now I've had to earn it two times extra (which does nothing for me not even gems like crate repeats). What was the purpose of participating in the last two weeks of drops when I have to earn the same items again to get the horse? I appreciate the free things, but this is kinda annoying.

I would be upset too if I had previously purchased the costume and now had to earn it twice more for other rewards. I love the horse and I really want it. But I had thought all the hours I already watched for the ghost cat and the costume would somehow be accounted for and I would just need the last 4 hours for the horse.
So I'm disappointed for sure.
But it's more ad revenue and stream revenue for their streamers.
I hope they're not planning on doubling the required watch time per crate again...
Who's ready to watch two hours for one crate that's worth 4-5 gems!

But once you've "claimed" the pet (that you already had), the progress changes to the outfit, and then to the crates and mount. The overall viewing time for earning the crates and mount is still what was mentioned in the news article-- eight hours-- so there was no deception or misleading information, merely a confusing implementation.

Yes. 8 hours more. I agree it is ridiculous.

Its Not 8 hours More. Read the Last Line.
Its 8 hours TOTAL
4 for the cat, another 2 for the costume (= 6 total), and another 2 for the horse ( = 8 total hours.
what sux is if you did it each week, you already Have the Cat and the Costume, so its just an 8 hour grind to the horse

4 hours week 1 + 4 hours week 2 =8 total hours I already streamed. This means that I already have the rewards. So 8 additional hours to claim the last prize, even though I already have the cat and the costume. 8 hours more to get the horse. Total "view" time = 16 hours. 8 hours more than people who only tuned in this week and skipped the previous two.
"8 hours more" sums up pretty well, I think, the situation for those who tuned in all weeks.

Clearly not intended if you have a rational mind.
