Yeah, that's why I said "some" was twitch's fault. ZOS absolutely had other options within twitch's constraints.

I don't think any of the blame is Twitch's when they made it so easy not to make things work this way. They could have done a multi-drop campaign or they could have stuck with the single drop and just ordered the release order in a way that was fair. They had two options to do this in a way that made it player friendly, and instead they chose to not take them. That's entirely on them.

ZOS's intentions were clearly: a) let people catch up on cat and costume and b) make people watch 8 hours for horse.
Certainly you can criticize the above but that is what they wanted to do and it's separate from the process being annoying or tedious.

It being annoying and tedious are not separate to whether or not Twitch is to blame or whether it is player friendly. ZOS deliberately making the design player unfriendly is not on Twitch. It would be on Twitch if ZOS couldn't help but, but it was a design goal of ZOs to maximize views. The existence of methods that are more player friendly being provided to them is relevant to the discussion of whether or not Twitch shares blame for the unfriendliness. And obviously the tedium is relevant when discussing whether or not it is friendly to players.

Twitch shares no blame for ZOS's decision. They explicitly have choices to make things easier for developers to have player friendly choices. That they offer these features is pertinent to whether they share any blame. The answer is simple, they do offer them. So they do not share blame.

I thought so too, it would have made more sense.

Last week my streamer went off the air and I was rolled over to another streamer but my progress stopped. I had to switch to a different show to continue my progress. So watch out for this.

I hope they're not planning on doubling the required watch time per crate again...

I watched to get the pet and the costume already and now it's making me watch them all over again and i have to claim the pet the costume and the crates again to get to the horse, so if you started watching on the 6th its redundant now cause you already have the pet and costume . . .fail ?

The way I do these is I downloaded twitch app on my phone.

Then, with it plugged in I leave it running for the drops and do what I feel like. I get the credit without having the stream get in the way of anything except my phone (which I can still use if need be).

So the way the drops worked was:

1) Set it running for the first drop - 4 hours later I claim it.
2) Close the app, re-open (to make sure it registered) and leave it for 2 hours to get the next one
3) Repeat and leave for a further 2 hours (8 hours total) to claim the last 2 rewards.

No issues using my phone, got everything (for those interested, I also had the previous drops rewards like the cat, but still had to do this.)

Sure it's a waste of electricity leaving my phone plugged in to do this, but it's the best way to ensure ZOS are wasting their money paying streamers to do this (the more people fake watching, the more money Zenimax waste paying streamers!)

I think the explanation was a bit misleading. They didn't treat us well; We all understood something different.
Anyway ... why reward items that have previously gone through the Crown Store and that someone (for example me) had purchased with crowns? ZOS doesn't think that those who had spent real money to buy items that are then given away with streamers ... should feel a little teased?

4 hours week 1 + 4 hours week 2 =8 total hours I already streamed. This means that I already have the rewards. So 8 additional hours to claim the last prize, even though I already have the cat and the costume. 8 hours more to get the horse. Total "view" time = 16 hours. 8 hours more than people who only tuned in this week and skipped the previous two.

"8 hours more" sums up pretty well, I think, the situation for those who tuned in all weeks.

As someone else mentioned, you can sleep (or do other things) while "watching" a stream for the drops, so the grind isn't that bad-- plus, you can spread it out over several days and across several channels.

The worst part of it, in my opinion, is that you must claim the pet to start earning the outfit, and must then claim the outfit to start earning the crates and mount-- at least, I think you must actively claim them; I don't think they'll just automatically start up on their own, but I might be wrong.

On the other hand, that helps ensure that people are actually watching the streams, instead of just starting them and walking away for eight hours, except you could just walk away for four hours, claim the pet, walk away for two hours, claim the outfit, and walk away for the rest of the stream since the final drops can be claimed later.

Already got cat and costume from watching the channel, but now the bar is still set at 93% on the ghost cat?!?

Week1: watched 4h, got the cat and 2 boxes
Week2: watched 4h, got a mail saying I redeeemed a code for the costume and 2 boxes, got the boxes but no costume
Week3: watched 4h for the cat, 2h for the costume and 2 more hours for the mount, got the mount, 2 boxes, and again the mail saying I redeeemed the costume and still no costume

Working as intended, I suppose

Edit: the costume is in my collection, I may had get it someway before, or didn't had the notification
