tank update

Hi thinking of coming back to play ESO. Just curious if there were any changes to tanking that I should know about. Never went full hardcore tanking like trials, mostly dungeons was getting into dlc dungeons but life happens so had to stop playing for a while. Thanks in advance.

If pugging build for your own survival and assume the healer is fake - so self-heals/high resists etc.

If not pugging then go with whatever works for your group.

Still looking to achieve the usual suspects: taunt big-baddies, accumulate/cc trash, buff group, debuff stuff, stay alive.

ok so no real changes. maybe some new sets but that's about it then. cool.

Soft taunt has been removed if I remember

bash damage got nerfed

the bash skill has been changed and now also is affected by bash damage modifier

There are some very good new sets. Loving Turning Tide and the Nazary monster set. It feels like they are trying to make tanking more than destro staff--taunt-pull-block rinse repeat.

The only real changes in the years is that soft taunt has been largely removed, and the taunt off ice staff has been moved from heavy attack to frost clench. Other than that same old same old, for better or worse.
