I'm stuck in gamepad mode?

Not sure what the heck happened, haven't been playing at all recently but when I logged in i'm in a gamepad type mode. Looks like the same interface as for consoles (but i'm on PC). Not sure how this came about and I didn't see any setting to change it...this happen to anyone else?

✭That's what happens when you just click "okay, yes, sure, whatever" every time a software shows you some dialog window.
After the recent High Isle update the game has the dialog that suggests you to turn on the accessibility mode and you need to say "no" instead of accepting everything.One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Not to worry buddy. It happened to a lot of folks as highlighted elsewhere in the Forum. It happened to both my brother and myself, we are both old fogies. The whole thing wasn't very clear and caught many out. 😉2 -

"It may be difficult to navigate the game pad menu without a game pad, that’s understandable. To turn this off without having to navigate the UI you can open your UserSettings.txt file and find the line for “AccessibilityMode”. Change the 1 to a 0, then save and exit. Then relaunch the game and your UI will be set for keyboard and mouse."

I didn't expect to see the screen either and was almost caught by it. I don't remember the exact layout but seeing gamepad triggered that no matter what "accessibility" meant I didn't want it no matter how much of an old fart I am.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭What I don't understand is why "Accessibility" mode gives you less accessible controls, why does it disable mouse and keyboard functions? Is the window to login and character selection hard coded to only work one way at a time? I use Steam so it auto logs in I don't see that part of it. As for the character selection screen I would love to be able to pick my characters with either keyboard/mouse or gamepad mode like you can in-game, but if I must choose one then keyboard/mouse.0 -
