Companions Issue

I completed my companions quests last year after they came out. I understand they are account wide. I made a new character about 2 months ago and the companions were both available to summon right away. I know they have to have their rapport done again. I made a new Warden a few days ago. Went to use Bastion and he is now unavailable for me to use. It says in red that I have to do the quests on him to be able to use him, even though in the upper right it says he's "collected." I'm wondering why I have to do this now, when my other new toon didn't have to do it all over again. I put in a tickets and just kept getting the usual generic responses. Finally it was admitted on the last response from ZOS that this was incorrect and I should have use of them. Now I'm back to generic responses, ie. repair, remove addons, etc.
Has anyone else run into this before with Bastion or Mirri? Please help and thanks!

✭✭It should be the other way around. The level and rapport stay, but you have to find them again on every character.3 -
TairenSoul✭✭✭My original character that has both is maxed out on both rapport and level. The next new toon I made was maxed out on level, but not rapport. This Warden doesn't have either lol. I'm pretty frustrated. I've spent lots of in game money and money for crowns since making her and I'm sure they'll tell me too bad, so sad. UGH!Heavy is the crown.0

OK that's weird and sounds like a bug. You need to do the initial quest on each character for each companion to be able to summon them. I think they should change that but that's the way it is. Raport is also per character. The only things that are account wide are their level, known skills and gear. Even things like which mount they use and their outfits are per character.3 -

✭✭✭✭✭There's no actual purpose to maxing out rapport on multiple characters, you only need to do it once to get the achievement to unlock their memento which is applied account wide. Their behavior doesn't change regardless where their rapport is at, only what they say to you. It takes an incredibly high amount of rapport loss for them to leave you as most activities drop it by 1, 5, or 10 points while doing their guild daily gives 125 back which is more than enough to wipe out any negative rapport you might have gotten.0 -

✭✭As far as I know you have to do the recruitment quest on each character, been that way since they introduced them, you sure your not just forgetting running thorough their recruitment quest on that character you created a few months ago?
If you visit the recruitment quest locations and their is no quest marker it would confirm if you have already done them on that character, be one way to clear up whether its a bug or just something you forgot about.2 -
tohopka_eso✭✭✭✭Yeah, I made a new character just before AWA only did bastions quest. Then one day I (actually forgot to do mirri's) tried to summon mirri but it sent me toward her quest. This was after AWA also. So, if you were able to summon her without the quest being done sounds like a bug maybe 🤔0
