Trying to match each race with a mount.

My arbitrary opinon:

Altmer: Indrik

Argonian: Guar

Bosmer: Kagouti

Breton: Horse

Dunmer: Nix-Ox

Imperial: Imperial Horse

Khajiit: Senche

Nord: Bear

Orc: Wolf

Redguard: Camel

Imperials - legion officers ride Imperial warhorses. Not an officer? You walk. Pleb? You walk.

Redguard- Camels, it is a desert

Nords - a short, smart mule. It's short enough for them to pass out onto and smart enough to rake them home and dump them at the door

High elfs - triple decker paladins, every else is beneath them

Argonians - go to nearest body of water and swim. If no body of water is nearby, burrow inti a hoke and sleep until the rainy season. Pray to the Hist it comes soon.

Bretons - a magical stick horse

Khajit - they can run faster than most mounts as it is

Wood elf - a squirrel. Anything bigger will buck them off

Dark elves - guars. They have them in abundance

Orcs - echatere. A mount they can headbutt into submission

Also, Orcs: Wolves and hounds. That's a connection that has been long established ever since Tolkien put Warg-riders into Middle-Earth.

I'm also sick of senches, indriks and horses. Give me a wamasu and a boar. And a couple more varieties of camel than just the regular crown-purchasable one. Maybe another kagouti. Or a Murkmire Bear-Lizard.

And, just for laughs, a Jet Propelled Pogo Stick.

When this thread was originally started, no one outside of ZOS had even seen an Indrick. The last person to post in this thread did so before the Indrick mounts were public knowledge.

EDIT: Yes, I know they said the Indrick was the national mount of the high elves, but, this was before we had playable Indrick mounts.

Khajit use big khajit mount

Altmer use grypphins...is that the name? Its the endeav reward.

Nords use wolf

Wood elfs use tigers,panters n stuff

Imperial use leons

Dark elfs use some monster that makes ppl wonder how it doesn't attack it's host.

Bretons horses

Orcs use bears

Thank you for the enlightenment. I wasn't aware of any of that. 👍
What brought me here was that I wanted to know the racial mount of all the races so I could equip mine according to the lore in the game, found this discussion, and I noticed that some of the mounts weren't even mentioned, and thought it was worth updating.
Plus, being a Necromancer, I never think about a thread ever being dead, not truly. 😁

Dunmer and Argonians typically use Guar as mounts--Argonians also have "lizard steeds" that can be shaped like any kind of mount, but they're exclusively in Xanmeer Crates and thus not easily acquired. It also possible Argonians use Wamassu but we don't have any of those yet.

Altmer use horses and indriks. If you don't have any indriks, they're coming back in upcoming events I believe. It's also very possible that they use quasigriffs since lore-wise they use griffons, but we don't have a regular quasigriff mount yet (one was datamined for next chapter though).

Bretons and Imperials use horses obviously. I know of no other mount type that they rely on or use regularly.

Khajiit use senche-cats as mounts. They're also known to use themselves as mounts, AKA senche-raht Khajiits who do not like being referred to as mounts.

Redguards use horses too, but they also rely heavily on camels in their homeland.

Nords use horses mostly as far as I know, but I'm certain some of the flavor texts for wolves and bears suggests they're both used by the north men. They'd probably also use rams too.

I think Orcs uses etchatere, but that's not an option because despite our requests for one, we do not have an etchatere mount. I'm pretty sure horses and bears are both good choices here though. There are lots of bears in Wrothgar.

I honestly don't know about wood elves. I would think that in their homeland they'd do most of their traveling and navigating either on the ground or through the treetops given how dense the forests are supposed to be. Maybe someone can't point me in the direction of some in-game lore regarding Bosmer and mounts. Anyway, I'd consider maybe and Elk or Stag mount. Seems the most fitting.

Goblins ride durzogs apparently. I'm mentioning this since there is in fact a goblin polymorph you can use, so role-play to your hearts content.

On that note, if you made a daedra, you have a LOT of options. Too many options possibly.
