Get rid of crit chance, completely

Rework the abilities to old school categories like Flame, Lightning, Poison, Bleed, and the all elusive: Oblivion damage

Scale around stats, CP only allow you to spec into two categories, and two categories only (Flame and Ice or Poison and Lighting)

The only way to “power creep” would be to max out in these two categories that have a hard cap of 7000 weapon and spell damage

From there you can tailor skills and armor sets with all the cute animations and minor buffs you want

[snip]

You. Are. WELCOME! ZOS

Agree with a lot, I've said for years the only way to minimize powercreep is HARD CAPS. It is the ONLY way to keep 500+ sets and 10000 combination is any sort of power range. Especially PVP, battle spirit should get rid of the BLANKET % NERFs and switch to Hard CAPs. The nice thing about that is you can fix different environments with different caps. For instance, in PVE high end trial group go ahead and let w/s dmg go to 8K, and high end PVP 7K, and beginner PVP 5K.

Also instead of removing crit CHANCE is also needs a CAP, it should alway be a CHANCE IT IS THE ACTUALY WORD, 100% crit chance is not 'chance' that is JUST CRIT SUCCESS. So cap should be about 50% in PVE and 30% in PVP. BTW that means all the insta crit like crit charge and inviso crit should be changed too. Caluurion has a huge amount of damage BECAUSE it requires a Crit but if crit is 100% it trivializes that req, that's why NBs are abusing it like crazy.

BTW in PVP the healing needs to be WAY reduces. I think if you can only put 1 HOT and 1 burst heal on yourself, and only RECEIVE 1 HOT and 1 burst heal from someone else, healing would be much better in PVP while retaining/enhancing healer role. And then the reduce/capped damage would make it all work.

How to fix ESO in 1 easy step; in 5 easy steps!

    1. Remove a core combat mechanic! easy, right?
    2. Use damage types! You know the ones, the ones we use!
    3. Scale damage on your stats! You know, like it already does!
    4. Max out your stats! That's on you, players. You, too, can fix eso!
    5. ???
    6. Profit!

I respectfully disagree with these propositions.

Power creep comes directly from changes Zenimax makes to the game. Soft and hard caps will do nothing to stop that.

There are 2 mundus stones, major and minor force, the class passives from templar, warden, sorc, and NB (at least), racial passives from Khajiit, major and minor brittle, CP, and any piece of gear that had crit chance, crit damage, or resilience stat/proc, (which is a lot) that would all need a rework. Im sure there is more. Im not sure that qualifies as "easy."

I think the way you propose it isn't fun, or valid to that matter...
but I do agree that a hard cap on EVERYTHING would fix the issues.

    Hi there,

Recently we've had to remove a few posts for baiting, content that is against the Community Rules.
    • Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
For further posts be sure to stay constructive and respectful to avoid thread derailment.

    Thank you for understanding.
