question about how to use "Ignore" function

I'm not calling out anyone by name, but I just noticed something odd: I wanted to use the "Ignore" function on someone whose postings I found very distasteful, but because their account is marked as private, I was unable to access the "Ignore" button for that user.

Am I missing something? Is there currently another way to do this?

If not, @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_Kevin is this something that we could have added/changed for the forum? Perhaps a button underneath the username on individual posts, so that we don't need to navigate to the user profile to ignore someone.

Hey @amapola76. The ignore function should be working. Could you PM me the individual you wanted to ignore. We can try and see if there is something off with either account. And if nothing is wrong with the accounts, it may be a bug.

@amapola76 - in order to ignore a user on private account, ;you go to your profile, select Edit Profile, go to Ignore List, and add the user by name in the box.

Yeah, I know vanilla backend pretty well - lots of stuff in this forum software isn't very transparent to end users! Glad to help where I can!

Thanks, that's awesome! I've already forgotten the username, and don't see the original offending posts (so they may have been bad enough to be removed or locked, anyway), but it's great to have a new option for next time.

Also be aware that the Ignore will hide comments, but if the person creates a new discussion, that discussion comment has not been hidden for me by using the Ignore.
