The unreasonable limit to in-game currencies

All in-game currencies should have no limits.

Why do we have a limit of 12 event tickets, and 1000 transmute stones?
Why do I have to destroy extra transmute stones because there is no more space in the inventory, or lose event tickets because there is nothing interesting to buy, but we cannot have more than 12?

So you wouldn't hoard tickets and was forced to buy stuff. Then, when you actually want to buy something you like, you would find yourself with a shortage of tickets and would be forced to buy them from the crown store. That's how ZOS makes money.

Regarding transmute - well, it's actually 500, you have 1000 with ESO+. Ones again - you need to spend money to get even 1000 crystals.

Event tickets are limited to get you to do the current event without being able to hoard tickets from past events and buy everything you want on the first day without taking part.

And to tempt you to buy tickets from the crown store if you come up short of tickets during an event or you just don't like the event and have no desire to take part.

Transmute stones use to be limited to 200 for years, they upped it to 1000 not too long ago, by the time you have 1000 you have enough stones to transmute 20 pieces of gear/4 full sets of gear. How many stones do you plan to hoard before you start using them?

Yeah, since reaching the cap I have never gone below 500, so even without ESO+ it's enough.

It's all based around the economy and keeping it "stable" not that it works really.

They don't want your hoarding event tickets

Transmutes use to be 200 so I'm really not sure what this complaint is about

If you hit 12 event tickets and nothing you want buy Imperssario Repair kits. Help your group or trial out some

If you reach the Transmute cap and the geodes are piling up, craft a weapon and transmute it to Nirnhoned, then deconstruct it. You might get a Potent Nirncrux out of that if you are lucky with the deconstruction. That's better than destroying the geodes.

Limits are part of it. You don't have to destroy the transmute crystals....pick a item or 3 and change the trait. Oh, and maybe stay away from the undaunted ppl for awhile 🍻

You can actually stack part of surplus geodes in transmuted items... since you get 25 of them back when you deconstruct the item.
So before throwing them away you can just put them in nirnhoned items as @Ratzkifal already said.

Why would you need more than 1,000 transmute stones? That’s like asking why you would need more than 100,000 gold, or 2,000 rubedite ingots at any one time. The answer is because I can earn more than that, and having to work around an artificial limit is tiresome.

The transmute stone cap is easy to bypass (easy enough that the limit is rather useless imo). Just reconstruct 1 piece of an item you know all of the pieces of. Like 1 piece of a monster set. (And definitely not a mythic). Then store that in a chest, or lock it an store in your bank. You reconstruct for 25 crystals, and then can deconstruct it an get those 25 back. I am personally sitting on around 2500 transmutes at the moment, all either crystals in my currency or items in my storage chests.

Same here, I haven't looked but probably have about 3k transmutes between my bank, unopened crystals with 50 each in them and all the gear I constructed that hold 25 each and stored in house chests to avoid accidents. I store all the unopened crystals on one of my daily crafting characters to keep them in one spot as well.

As for event tickets, meh. There is nothing worth buying anyways, my bank sits at 12 event after event and I don't bother doing anything to earn them. Although the Jubilee was annoying, since just getting the XP buff gave tickets, so I was forced to watch them go poof daily.

The limits keep people participating in content over an extended period of time.

If people could keep their event tickets passed 12, they'd pass on buying things in some events and just stock up eventually leading to a point where people would just skip events because they had plenty of tickets already and didn't want the stuff.

The transmute cap makes it so people don't build up transmute stacks so large that they rarely run random content and so that overland drops retain some value.

The precise limit may not be ideal but, having one is likely needed.

If you hit transmute cap transmute a trash weapon into a nirn trait weapon and then decon it for the potent nirn and sell it.

The transmute to Nirn then decon drop rate for nirncrux appears for me is about 3 nirncrux out of 5 decons.

I have also found that using Transmute /Reconstructing weapon to get other weapon skill lines maxed out easily..
Example: healing staffs , destro staffs, 2handed, and sword & board on a DW / Bow Nightblade. By using a transmute station and making the weapon for the particular set the character uses, and back baring it, slotting when at crowded dolmens, WB's, other overland events, and when turning in Quests give that skill line XP Thus making the character more adaptable to the changes ZOS makes.

I find the caps too low as well.
Sometimes I'm doing rnds on multiple characters because I have time and want to level the lowbies. Other times I have very little time to play, often because of exams, and I really just want to log in and have a bit of time relaxing with guildies. At those times it's really nice to be able to build without having to farm.

A very very annoying way of storing the transmutes, if you really need, is to reforge some items that can later be deconstructed for gems. But who the hell has that kind of inventory space.

The transmute system was put in place to decrease the grind some in finding gear with the correct trait. It wasn't meant to completely replace the grind or allow basically unlimited ability to change traits. Getting good gear is much better than it once was but the limits still inspire us to participate in a variety of content. Filling the sticker book (something that really knocked the grind down) wouldn't look near as enticing if we could have unlimited stones.

The 12 tickets is so we feel compelled to participate in special events. An MMO survives in part on players repeating content. Special events and a ticket cap provides the incentive to replay content.

The Crown Store is for convenience. People who have cash and no patience. It's not some maniacal scheme.

To be honest if I could hold more than 12 tickets I would participate MORE in the events .. Once I get everything from event and rebank 12 tickets I totally stop playing event. I usually don't do anything event related the last few days when it comes to the quests what give tickets. Also if real world stuff happens and I cannot play or play very little during an event I shouldnt have to worry about missing out if I was able to play alot during prior events.

When it comes to transmutation crystals I also don't think they should be capped. It is an EARNED currency. Just like gold , telvar and AP . Atleast let unopened geodes stack of same quality, I'd be fine with that too.

This works really well with the "play however you want"-schtick, don't you agree?

And make them bankable. Those two would make a HUGE difference. They take up ridiculous amounts of space.
