Player behaviour in PvP

The title. So much the title. Player behaviour in PvP (Xbox NA) is extremely toxic as of late it seems. In the past year and a half the toxicity in PvP on Xbox has rose drastically and needs to be addressed.

Certain things should be bannable offenses such as player targeting and constant tbagging if they aren't already.
For no reason should I be chased from one keep to another or around the map for anywhere between 5-10 minutes by multiple people (the same handful of people) then tbagged every time I log in to play.

I have reported and blocked people and nothing gets done about it. I was also getting constant whispers or messages from those people before I blocked them. Usually I wouldn't let things like this bother me but I feel like I have no other options than to stop playing the game again because of this. I just don't know what to do anymore and it's really getting to me. Anybody else have/had a similar problem?

What you're describing sounds like harrassment but generally t bagging and some salty whispers are part of pvp. That's part of the reason why I play. Nothing more satisfying than ganking someone and seeing him trigger. Hate whispers mean I did good. Its almost like a reward.

Yea Im use to getting hate mail and such and being tbagged. But recently it's been the same handful of people relentlessly targeting me and tbagging over and over. And its just getting old. And makes me unable to actually play.

Its horrible it really is. Maybe best to play something else. Switch alliance. Take a break. But do something doing nothing and waiting for ESO or microsoft to do something is not going to solve anything. Take control and try not to expose yourself to the bullies. All the best and good luck.

I know you're upset OP but this is pretty standard for open world MMO PvP.

When you're a lone wolf up against huge groups of players, they will chase you halfway across the world and then taunt you when they finally kill you. It doesn't matter if it's Elder Scrolls Online, Albion, Mortal Online, Ultima Online free shards, etc.

Try not to let it affect you.

I'm not saying this is a good idea in ESO but if you can manage to pick off some of them, taunt them back, and run away unscathed then it can be very rewarding. This is the nature of open world PvP.

Wear the BS as a badge of honor, you must be doing something right. And if all else fails change campaigns or do a Battleground if PvP is what your looking for.

Are you sure you weren't doing something similar to them initially? In my experience so far, aside from the limited tbags and whispers, I've never had anything like that happening to me.

But then again I don't do hate whispers at all or obnoxious tbagging - I mostly tbag as a means of saying 'hi' without using the chat. No reason to play PvP if you get upset because of dying.

This is not normal pvp behaviour no matter what some players are saying. @ZOS_Kevin can you please advise on what ESO can do regarding antisocial behaviour?

tbagging is allowed, griefing not.
This means if someone tbags you, and you whisper him not do do it again, and he ignores it repeatingly, you can report him (use the "record what happened" and share to onedrive, optionally from there to youtube, add the link to the video in the support ticket.

This takes some effort (slow video upload), so it is really just recommended for extreme cases of griefing that come close to stalking.

Question is though, why people are so obzessed with you.
I never had such cases, maybe because I am too unimportant.
No troll build (unkillable werewolf), no social media streamer, not writing racists or insulting stuff in zonechat.
Maybe there is one point in the way you play the game that provoques others more than usual?

Your proposed solution does not work in game. The repeat offenders are either in offline mode or already have their victims on their ignore list. So whispering them to ask them to stop is not an option.

This is unsportsmanlike behavior, not antisocial.

The way I see it is premade battleground tournaments are the only acceptable place to enforce rules against taunting. Just like real life sports. Open world PvP should absolutely 100% allow any form of taunting except for chat/email.

If I want to be a wild barbarian who stalks you around the map, kills you, and uses the /crochet emote on your corpse then I should be able to do that.

Respectfully, I'm not sure why people think open world PvP is a friendly place where everyone holds hands and gets along.

I often see people provoking others in zonechat, so really would not wonder if that has consequences.

We do NOT talk about a real life situation where innocent women get harrassed and then accused they would provoque it by wearing skirts.
We talk about a game war zone, where zonechat is infested with insults and aggressive behaviour.
So the question is legit to me, to ask if maybe he insists on something he did to be correct.
We currently just know the one side of the story.

I am just starting to go more into the PVP zones, and I don't find it very amusing being killed over and over again while doing quests.

On the other hand, I am wondering why would any PVP-er find it fun and engaging to kill someone who is clearly doing quests, is in low lvl (mostly pve) gear and not fighting back. I am not able to comprehend that.

I know I am in PVP zone and I am expecting to get killed, but still don't see why would anyone enjoy killing a player that is easier to kill than any NPC or mob in the zone.

for questing, best use a sidecampaign. They are usually unpopulated, and nobody will notice you unless you start to capture resources.
Works perfect for me farming skyshards.

Because they can't kill a real PvPer. Their PvP skill is in between where you are right now and a zergling. They are learning how to choose their prey after getting beat down by competent players, and they need to start somewhere. Sometimes you just get caught in the crossfire though. If you are in an objective town, you are a threat to the flags regardless of rank/skill.

the reason I am suspicious when people describe themselves as victim:

there is a streamer in a xbox facebook group (not naming him to avoid naming and shaming).
He sees his vdeos as Satire, and I have seen his messages in zonechat.
He insults other players, until they duel with him. If he wins, he exposes them publishing a video about it.

Lately he posted a message, he was shocked that his real life address was posted somewhere. He felt threatened and could not understand what happened. He continued insults when we tried to convince him, that he could avoid such issues by stopping his aggressive behaviour.

There definately are people in cyro are not "innocent victims", but very active agressors. With big crocodile tears once others hit back.
