One of my guildmates sent me the columbine flowers I'd sold them from the guild trader, saying "You should use Master Merchant because this is worth more than 20 gold each."

I owe my fortune in ESO to that guildie!

No one ever helped me. While I see stories about people helping new players, that never happened to me when I was starting, 2014 was ruthless. On the other side, I like helping players clear world bosses or asking if they're new to offer help(After an obvious new player question on zone chat).

Back when I was only a month or so into the game, someone gave my warden a WW bite for free after helping me out with something else. They then spent several hours making me training gear (gave me two sets, one for level 16 and one for level 36, complete with weapons and jewelry) then taking me to a grind spot and helping me kill the mobs so I could level WW. I didn't ask for any of this, they just offered and wanted to help out.

At the time, they had been playing the game for four years. The four year anniversary of my own account is now coming up, and it feels funny to be in the same position they were in four years ago, where I am now an established player and can help others with training gear and free bites.

They're still on my friends list 4 years later and active in game, which always makes me happy to see! They've been playing 8 years now!
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

I was too shy to ask for help, and didn't even join my first guild for the first six months. I ended up doing all of Cadwell's Gold and Silver without help.
Now I try to help new people, though.

It's been a long time since.Taking me in dungeons without having much exp and teaching me rotations is probably it.I wasn't considered new for long as i grinded out all cp in like 1 event in skyreach and got into late game content. As far as i remember i supported new players a ton.Never charged for crafting sets, never wanted mats(till purple),listed healer and tank gear way cheaper to help them,ww/vamp bites for free obviously, went for some dungeon runs to get them geared when i had 0 interest in doing that actually.I did not do that because i am the most kind player or somethnig.I did that because i wanted to encourage new players to continue playing eso.I saw them as my future group members doing dungeons together.

I guess the biggest help I got was at a trader? Either someone was quitting or they messed up pricing but all their mats were super cheap. Kuta, gold mats, ores, silks, leather everything was the same price and I just happened to have a few k saved up. I cleaned him out. I couldn't USE some of those mats yet as my crafting wasn't high enough yet, but it was nice to have them when I got there. Sorry trader.....

This one has also been in Tamriel since the morning the sun first rose.

We were all poor and ragged back then, with clothing in only very limited colours.

Nowhere to call home and only four horses to choose from. We were all equally lacking in knowledge and cornflowers.

But along the way this one has been helped through many dungeons and rezzed many times by many wonderful and patient travellers.

Clan Claws have been meeting new players at the spawn points these last couple of weekends and greeting them with music, advice and some of the green recipes clogging up the guild bank.

This one wishes them all a long and fruitful stay in Tamriel.

Everyone was new player back in 2014, yeah.. Hm, when i was noobey role-player, guess that counts, guild master of mine invited bunch of us casuals to some tavern RP. We kinda came to do silly stuff, like emotes and cast all those shiny spells to grab attention.. Some RP-ed along though, and i loved it. I played a drunkey to make it easier, ha-ha. Seasoned players who organized the thing were super supportive, many thanks to them. That evening changed so much actually.. Huh. Still keep in contact with those guys, btw. Eight years later. Cool. In other media though.

My newbie elf was getting her butt kicked in a public dungeon - repeatedly. Finally, she received a group invite which she quickly accepted. Turns out, she found herself under the wing of a maxed out Magplar, who pushed her from boss to boss and even the skyshard, letting her kill what she could and evaporating her foes when she began to get overwhelmed. Killed every boss, got the skyshard and an escort to the exit. And profuse thanks. As the mighty templar rode off into the sunset, my elf said to herself, "I'm gonna grow up to be like you someday." Well, sure enough, she did indeed grow up to be a strong Magplar herself. And she never passes up an opportunity to help a newb who looks like they're overwhelmed.

Back a little before Summerset someone took pity on my 7k DPS and taught me the rules of the game.

They taught me how damage scaling worked, they taught me how armor worked, they taught me that my morph's cost mattered (at at the time), and after that I went far.

I haven't spoken with him in a very long time, but if it wasn't for him actually bringing these things to my attention I'd have most likely have quit the game all those years ago for good.

I started in May 2017. My very first character was an Argonian dragonknight who was swiftly replaced by an Altmer sorcerer when I saw all the sorcs running around with pets, because I love pet classes. When the Morrowind chapter came out shortly afterward, I was fascinated by the wardens and their bears - I love druids, so this was even more up my alley - and someone gave me the huge gift of buying me Morrowind. I mained warden for a long time after that. I still have the very first warden I ever created, and warden is still my favourite healing class.

A couple of months after launch in 2014, I was a low level noob lost in Cyrodiil.
A couple of folks saw me, saw what a noob I was, stealthed behind me and followed me around using me as bait! LOL!
They finally said hi, found me a home in their guild, one was the GM, and she even gave me 10K gold to buy the horse I wanted.
For me, beta and launch had the most awesome and helpful community.

A few guild mates made me some gear and stuff for researching the traits that's about all I can think of now a days its me doing that as well now for guild members and the occasional random player in zone.

Other than that its mainly just been advice for stuff from guild mates when I started out.

Way back when I was using a DW Sorc with a lot of lightning skills. A guildmate kindly pointed out it was killing my DPS and pointed me to backbar-ing a bow and using non-class skills.

Helped me realize how shallow the skill/gear system really was. So thanks guy. :) He did also craft me some gear though, so that was cool.

I came pushed by friends. I wanted a game to take a breath aside of my main, chilling solo without any stress and/or obligation. Friends told me I should get that in ESO.

When I started, they told me:
    - Until 50, don't bother about equipment, simply put on what you get from rewards/loots.
    - Put all your points on one attribute (in my case magika)
    - Favorize passives, however the ones matching for you (several require use of specific skills, to be ignored if I don't use those).
    - Farm skyshards for points.
    - Start crafting disciplines immediately and deconstruct as much as you can, with prio. to the ones matching what you wear (in my case wood and clothes).
    - Storyline is helping but not mandatory. Generally, don0't try to do all at same time. Take one thing at a time and when comfortable with it, go to next.

It worked wonderfully for me this way. <3
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

I helped myself by meticulously studying every mechanic and aspect of ESO in game and through external resources.

Those resources though were made by someone no  ?

2 years ago as a brand new player, it wasn't easy to know which resources were good and which were rubbish. High view counts and search engine rank were not a good indicator. The situation is much better now thankfully.

We never even thought to look at any guides when we started out in the game. Overland and normal dungeons were so easy we just assumed that we didn't need to. I think every veteran player will remember the first moment they realize (or get told) that they are actually terrible at the game, that then motivated them to read guides and builds. Ours was getting vBC2 in one of our first random vet dungeons, and being dipped and raged on by at least 10 replacements for over 3 hours :D
