im under the impression that winners in the new card game would be getting gold as part of the reward....
what is stopping people from using this to print money in eso???
maybe the gold comes out of the losers pocket???
maybe there is a way for both parties to put a number of bets towards the winner????

It seems that the best course of action is to test this for oneself or specifically ask how this mechanic works and how much gold is involved rather than make assumptions.

I have seen multiple threads suggesting that antiquities provide too much gold but others point out the big gold in that system cannot be repeated which is the limiting factor. It is always best to look at the whole picture first.

well assuming you could find a way to throw games as quickly as possible and that there is no limit to how many rewards you can obtain per day from this it could be considered exploitable..

(i have close to zero interest in card game and haven't played it on PTS)

From comments on PTS rewards are "meh".
Devs mentioned on the stream something for around 15 min for a game. Even if someone speedgame it to 5 min i doubt game gives 5k gold to actually create excesses of gold (in best it doubt it will even give 1k...). There may be more proper numbers in discussions but i have no interest in ToT to search for it.

    Edit: punctuation :)

Don't care about the gold but it would be nice to have a rush strat or instant concede option to quickly do a "Play 1 Tales of Tribute Round" endeavor (for those are not interested or just short on time).

it doesnt matter how much gold honestly
someone could probably figure out how to bot and passively farm gold while they do other things..

You don't get rewards for casual matches against people, you only get them for matches done via the lfg tool and ranked matches. It was mentioned in the showcase they did after the main stream a few days ago. And both people get rewards, not just the winner, though obviously the winner's rewards are better.

I can make 20k gold within 5 minutes out of thin air just from killing NPC's. As the card game is supposed to take like 15 minutes each i would need to get 60k gold to make up for my other farming methods but the rewards are no way close to that.
I'm but a sarcastic beef jerky. Irony and cynicism are my parents. You've been warned.

15 minutes is optimistic. If other online TCGs are anything to go by, trolls can and will hold the timer to 89 seconds before making their move.

As I said, the best course of action is to test the game. Assumptions and guesses that lack basis does not provide feedback for Zenimax to consider.

Fortunately, @Arunei did their homework and cleared this assumption up.

Just about every activity in the game can be used to make some amount of gold.

    - Completing quests rewards you gold.
    - Doing crafting writs rewards you gold.
    - Killing mobs can reward you gold (as loot from the corpse).
    - Farming resource nodes or gear or looting items from "free" (unowned) containers gives you stuff you can sell for gold, either to NPC merchants or at guild traders.
    - Stealing and fencing items can give you gold.
    - Scrying antiquities that can be sold to NPCs can give you gold.
    - Buying and selling (or "flipping") items through guild traders can give you gold.
    - Selling your fighting or tanking or healing skills to help lowbies clear difficult content can give you gold.

Each player chooses which activities they want to engage in for earning gold-- if they even care about earning gold, which some players don't seem to care about.

Totally agree and thank you. Sometimes I start to feel like I'm the one who lost her cookies around here.
