Both experienced players in the stream avoided all agent cards because they are "too easy to remove." Removal cards were plentiful and very cheap.
As a reminder, once played, agent cards are persistent and remain on the board until they are removed by the other player.
If agent cards are 1 of 3 card types, and neither player would event touch one, perhaps agent cards need some better balance?
Now obviously we saw one game and the dev team has play tested for months. But, the psychology of both players regarding agent cards is the result of their play testing, and neither wanted to touch one.
Hopefully PTS and testing proves otherwise.
By the way, this game basically uses mechanics similar to the deck building game "Dominion". It is a fun style of game and moves very quickly with experienced players. Love that you can see your next hand while the opponent is taking a turn. Looks like very little "waiting" with nothing to do.
Another huge asset is that decks of the players are combined into a common pool. A problem that absolutely plagues card games is getting "better" cards than the opponent, either through some farming method or buying them with real money. Having to get new cards to build better decks is a treadmill and not casual friendly. This method of combining decks sounds quite excellent to me.
