Anniversary cake not sharable with group members? :(

I was in a dungeon with a very friendly new player, and I told them about the anniversary cake, but when I wanted to share mine with them they were unable to eat from it

I could have sworn it was possible the other years.

It was definitely possible - I distinctly remember people dropping their cakes on dolmen chests in order to annoy others. Perhaps that's the reason for the change?
PC NA, CP2500+. Character creation is the true endgame.

Hmmm that could be the reason, well all the more cake for each of us then :open_mouth:

Aye. Griefers are why we can't have nice things.

Were you grouped with the other player?

It is so easy to get the cake, the ingredients are right there with the chef, that I would point the player to the docks if it did not work.

That being said, it would be annoying to have several cakes out in a group dungeon or trial....
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

The vestige wants to keep all the cake for themselves  But yeah, it was done because players would drop them in front of doors in trials, and people would try to go through the door but get the prompt to eat cake instead, so they changed it.

I was grouped and it was only them and I in the dungeon, so there wouldn't be cake everywhere

I did tell them I would gladly take them to the docks if they needed the cake tho. guess that's what has to be done if you can't share cakes anymore

I'm primarily a solo player and like it that way but I do find it ironic that grouping in overland does not offer the perks of sharing chests, heavy sacks (like happens in group dungeons). And yes, groups should be able to share anniversary cake.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

In a prior guild of mine, we had a dedicated group trying to get Trial achievements. And someone kept dropping cakes and preventing people from opening doors, interfering with the speed run. The guild leader was furious. These were all people we played with a lot and knew and could not figure out who would do such a thing. There is no way to identify who dropped the cake and it just seems like if you give people the ability to anonymously grief others, some players cannot resist the temptation, even among friends.

Bad idea. Now instead of one cake you could have 12 cakes all over the place.
