What happened to Vampires?

I've been gone for a little over 6 months, and it seems really trashy now, all you get is weaknesses now since mist form seems to be garbage now, the drain is a long 3 second channel.
Is there a place that logs all the changes?
Is there any buffs at all?

Basically, with Greymoor, they made it so instead of decreasing your stage, feeding increases your stage. And you can turn into a blood scion.

Search The Forums and you’ll find this was about as popular as shoulder pads.

They got ZOS'd, aka nerfed into Oblivion because ZOS for some reason always takes things to extremes.

These sort of threads always trigger me. Vampire was one of my favorite aspects of the game since I became one at level 3 pre-One Tamriel scaling by kiting the level ~40 something mobs around the stairs in the quest area, and probably half my characters were vampires.

Now, only ONE of my characters still is and only for the sneak speed passive on my thief. There is absolutely nothing really good about them now, and as you pointed out it is mostly all weakness. The ultimate is clunky and sort of locks your character in an animation where you can't do anything every time you change and change back, and the overall effect is just... unimpressive. I would have much preferred a "permanent" combat form like werewolf.

The abilities are weak and incomplete. No AOE that isn't a channel and the damage is bad. The spammable is gimmicky and kills you. Healers can't heal you. The whole thing is really not fun at all.

I keep hoping beyond hope they will revisit and remake the whole thing again some day but it seems at this point the passion is kinda puttering out. Fingers crossed though.

I keep trying to make a fun build, not even competitive, but I find myself just compensating for the downsides without gaining much.

Drain has always been a 3 second long channel, but over the past 6 months all it's seen have been buffs.... and those buffs are still not enough to save that ability, lol.

I use it mostly for utility and tanking, but you'll never see it as an active part of my rotation but more of a downtime ability I'll have running if I can get away with it when moving from fight to fight.

While Blood Frenzy lost it's bite this patch it's super easy to maintain now, and Sated Fury almost feels like a free burst heal these days. Still not sure about using Frenzy as a brawler in PvP, but I still use Blood for Blood because smacking someone while exhausted on magicka is just something I can't give up no matter what.

Like its fine now its not really meant to be used thats kinda obvius its mostly meant to exist but not really have any use like mist form delete from pve looks more like hey we found a use for this thing witj limited skills so lets prevent that. Idk why they keep abillity cost increase
