High Isle Map

Does anyone have any details on what the map for High Isle will look like? I know there’s that map from Redguard depicting The Systres but I’m more or less wondering what it will look like relative to ESO. Will it go in the Aurbis like Artaeum, CwC, Fargrave, etc? Or will ZOS expand the Tamriel map west of Summerset?

Bonus question: what zone do you guys think will be added with the Q4 DLC?

Re: the map, I expect we’ll find out when they have their preview on the 14th, I don’t think anything like that has been officially released yet.

Re: Q4, I’m hoping for Pyandonea (or part of it, anyway).

The 14th can’t come soon enough! I also really hope Pyandonea is featured, or maybe Herne/Cespar or even parts of Yokuda that haven’t been sunk (or maybe even Thras??)

Pyandonea specifically just because of the presence of Maormer in this game or Thras because of Sloads. Regardless I think it would be awesome to have a new playable Maormer race but I don’t think that would happen because of the ongoing political conflict (and because TES hasn’t added a new playable race since Orcs). A couple Maormer passives such as lightning resistance, increased magicka, or maybe even a new weapon line with tridents/spears. So many possibilities I hope ZOS capitalizes on!

I kind of imagine it would be the Direnni isle. But who knows.

On Pyandonea, the Khajiit are called Meowmer.

Direnni Isle is already in the game. It's the tutorial Isle

Jehanna would be really nice but as far as I know Jehanna exists as "Jehanna Docks" in Orisinium, so I don't think we'll see it as a full city. Maybe the Western Reach for that unmapped region? Personally I want to see the Telvanni Isles or Helstrom, I just love dark and gloomy places I guess

I figure they'll have to expand the world map a smidgen out west to show where the Systres are.

It'll be nice to explore a tropical island with a Medeival civilization on it, especially with ZOS' higher Art quality standards.

I'm just curious about the size.

We really only have one map that shows the Systres, and they're tiny.

That's them in the center - about the size of Stirk. And there are three, but I seem to remember one source saying we'd only get two of the three islands. I'd love to know how we're getting a Chapter-sized zone out of this.

I guess maybe High Isle/Amenos will be more true-to-life than the compressed zones? Still, that's majorly different than what we've gotten so far.

I'm wondering if the absence of High Isle on existing maps means the island is gonna sink at the end of the chapter.

What I'd like to see is some magical construct that ends up destroying High Isle. The cult that placed it there then flees to Skyrim. The end of year DLC is Winterhold, where the magic device is hidden underneath Winterhold. It can't be destroyed, but it can be contained/stalled indefinitely, but only via powerful and regular magical stuff.
For this purpose, the College Of Winterhold is formed, as a means of keeping the device dormant, but also preventing others from finding out about it and using it themselves, hence the guise as a college. Gives an excuse for the town to hold so many mages.
But over the centuries, the reason behind the college's founding are forgotten, and the device eventually goes off, creating the Winterhold we see in the 4th era.

Scales in ESO are always way off from realism or Lore accuracy. If the islands are small ZOS will just buff them up.

Norianwe explains that Keywright's Gallery is but a substructure of Balfiera Island. We don't get to see Adamantine, and there's potentially more to the island.

You're absolutely right about Jehanna Docks. The hope is that they either do a slight retcon so that the city those docks serve is just off the map to the east (as it stands, those docks don't make any sense, nor does the "Jehanna Road"), or, in keeping with the nautical theme of the year, it could be that at this time, Jehanna is on an island stranded by a submerged neck of land. This would make the docks actually make sense. As I said though, its probably just wishful thinking.

As for the Western Reach? Hook me up! I'd love to see that. Helstrom or Telvanni Isles would also be epic. I'd love to explore Firewatch.
