Keybinds Not Saving!

Using Votan's Keybinder and noticed after Update 33, keybinds can no longer be changed or saved! Even after disabling the addon and libAddonKeybinds... I cannot get any keybinds to save. When Votan's is enabled, it will not even allow you to change any keybind- disabling it allows you to change keybinds, but it will not save through a ReloadUI or logout/in. Apparently there was a change in Update 33 to keybinds that may be causing this problem.

Here is the exact error message, hopefully it can help ZOS figure out what they miscoded. As I stated before, I disabled the keybind addons and it still will not SAVE any new keybinds. Apparently people even went back to previous versions of Votan's Keybinder and it still has the above stated problem, which was not occurring until Update 33.

Me too, is there any other chance to save my keybinds, cuz ESO dont save my keys since a long time no more

For Votan's, did you make sure libAddonKeybinds was installed as well? I was having this same problem while playing on my laptop . I checked for working addons and Votan's was deactivated cause this dependency was for some reason missing. Installed it and now everything is working great.

Glad to hear Votan's has solved the problem, although haven't logged in yet to check. <crossing fingers>

Can confirm that this is now fixed!! SO happy about this!! I'm still not sure why disabling the addon and it's associated lib still didn't allow me to SAVE any keybinds... change them yes... but they wouldn't save upon reloadui or logoff/on.

I too am having this issue, only since recognizing it last year, update 32. I have been troubleshooting off and on for months unable to consistently save changes between reloads with or without addons or different combos and versions of VotansKeybinder, Binder, libs, AenathelsKeybinds and others; altered luas and reset default Kb and Controller bindings. Ive reinstalled drivers, methodically tweaked settings in W10, purged usb io. Done everything I can think of. Still pulling my hair out with changing keybinds on and between or not all characters with this patch. The only way I can change keybindings and my changes persist after reloadui or exiting the game is if Votans Keybinder is active and checked (shared across all characters). This is a combo of ZOS and Keybinder issue for at least some accounts. This issue, is not present on an alt eso account on another device, without and with Votan’s Keybinder active or checked bind. Im at a loss and just give up after an hour of revisiting this keybind issue every night for the last two weeks instead of playing the game (really difficult ithout MY choice of controls).

Have tried to change my Horse button from H to home. Saving on all yet 1 character still keeps reverting back to H. My first char made is the issue.

Attempted to unbind all gamepad from other chars some buttons will stay unbinded some will still be in place.

Friend bind seems to return back to binded. Feel the time to take to open the friends function with a mouse over is better then wasting a key on it for myself. Affects multiple characters on my account.

There might be other functions yet do not recall it all. Did just place a report.

The things I have attempted are change binds to No binds at all and different binds, click resume, then transition then transition back, Log out log into another char, attempt to change those and then log into the previous one to check and find it reverted.

Do not use addons difficult enough without them as you can read and experienced yourself.

<would I know that I would keep all champion points after deleting all chars then maybe I would hazard a redo and ruin everything I have attempted before just giving up entirely and deleting the characters completly and then account so the account could be no longer a problem for anyone>

Okay, over the last few days I have gone as far as Im willing to troubleshoot the issue. Being no key bind changes made in controls setting menu on my account on any character on any machine save correctly and revert to the previous bound state once the ui is reloaded, the character logs off, or the game is quit and closed. I have reinstalled every peripheral device I use, all drivers, the game itself, windows 10 features programs language packs keyboards, eso addons and settings saved variables, one by one, opening the game and painstakingly testing with a different key each instance for a new bind on a not bound slot and one unbinding a used slot then checking if the control changes save after reloadui, logging off and back in, or quitting from in game, between all updates, installs, reinstalls, settings changes and resets. Every variation I could possibly think to do on my end.

This Account issue is a ZOS issue. Why we do not have a local settings file for Controls along side the AddOnSettings and GameSettings files we can simply edit with notepad is beyond me. I have been playing for nearly seven years, I have used who knows how many addons and who knows how many depreciated with keybinds saved on my account. I can only suspect at this stage that I have a ton of obsolete key bindings attatched to my account controls that I cannot see, edit, clear, or delete from my end. Even resetting default keyboard and default gamepad controls does not solve this issue.

I would have liked to make it possible to keybind almost everything in the UI, but ESO unfortunately has a shadow limit on the number of defined keybindings. After the limit is hit, new keybinds will not be saved, so I'm trying to limit keybinds to the ones I deem essential.
Known issues: If you have many add-ons that define a lot of keybindings, you might hit keybindings shadow limit imposed by the ESO client. If your keybinds stop saving, you have hit the shadow limit.

I do not know what to do from here. I have expended so much time on this all so I can play instead of playing that I dont even want to right now even if I was able to solve my issue and could set my keybinds without a second thought. And I havnt. So… sos or sol?
