Will I keep achievements if I delete the characters I earned them on?

Hi, I’m on console so the new update isn’t live yet, and I can’t find any information on this online.

I have 3 templars - one for PvP, one for healing PvE, one for DDing PvE. I would like to condense them all in one character thanks to the armory system, but if I delete the other two, will I keep their achievements and titles earned with the new update (account wide achievs)? Or do I have to keep the characters, although I’m not using them, just to keep their earned achievements?

Yes, even if no other characters "earned" the achievement. If you get it on your account (Tamriel) once, that's it. Done. Over. You beat the game.

A note to keep in mind; any progress towards character-bound achievements that you HAVEN'T unlocked yet will be lost. This includes things like any of the Museum quests where you collect X number of pieces to get and all of the Crafting achievements aside from True Motif Master. So if you don't have a Grand Master Crafter yet but one of those characters you aren't using has a lot of progress towards unlocking it, that progress would be lost since it's character-bound, and if you want the achievement and associated Title you'd have to start again on your main.

After the update you need to login once in the other characters to make their "local" achievs to be merged to "global" pool, then you can delete them.

Note, in doing so, that for achievements that sum up things (monster kills and the like), the "earned by" will be assigned to the first char that pass the mark and for eventually deleted characters the achievement will show an "earned by " empty tooltip.

If you delete two of your characters BEFORE the update goes live on console, you will loose any achievements that those characters had that the one remaining did not. You will also loose any progress towards uncompleted achievements (i.e. open 1000 treasure chests) that those characters could have provided.

If you delete two of your characters AFTER the update goes live on console and you did not log them in, you will have the same results.

If you delete two of your characters AFTER the update goes live on console and you did log them in, all achievements will be retained. Progress towards unfinished achievements will be combined and whichever character is logged in at the time that the achievement meets or exceeds the required quantity will get the credit. Furthermore, even if deleted, any achievements flagged as earned by that character will continue to show as earned by the character.

I think if the character is deleted after achievements are rolled into account wide, the earned by credit disappears or is blank, but the achievement and time stamp remains.

You would want to delete any characters who's achievements you don't want to count towards your account wide achievements BEFORE you log in after the update, or even before the update itself. Any character you log in on after the update will have achievements mushed to your account forever.

On the PTS, I deleted every character and logged off. The next day I logged on and was presented with character creation. I made a character, one with no perks, just an ordinary level one character. After finishing the character, I checked the achievements and they were all still there.
