Why Remove Bank/Merchant Access from Intro?

I get the feeling it's cause I leveled a character to level 31 in the tutorial as a joke lol.

Several people looked for challenges, and leveled a new character to 50 in coldharbor prison. I think it took forever, and I'd never even try to start that, but it can be done, apparently.

Is it because they got lumped in with Companions, and they didn't want you accessing Companions there?

If so, they need to separate them....
You can't access a companion on a character that hasn't done the companion unlock quest, so there was never a way to summon a companion in the tutorial.

I believe it was to do with the new decon assistant, so that the intro space wasnt farmed for mats. I assume there is alot of gear in there to decon, I cant really remember the intro
    That doesn't make sense though. It's not like that stuff respawns;
It does respawn, though, that's the issue. And it's not about mats, it's about the inspiration. It's a ridiculously tedious exploit for something that can be done much more quickly in other ways after the tutorial, but it is technically an exploit.

Here's where someone reported it on PTS: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/596976/pts-update-33-bug-reports-for-deconstruction-assistant
How long does the stuff take to respawn? I've never hung around in any tutorial long enough to realize it does after a set amount of time.
It respawns immediately upon decon. I never said it was about bots, not all exploits are about bots. I also agree that the possible exploit isn't a big deal. On the other hand I don't see not being able to use the banker or merchant as a big deal, either. It's a minor change at the margins of the game.
That's true, not all exploits revolve around bots. I was mostly stuck on that point since others seemed to think it was bots and botters that would have caused the change.

I also had no idea things immediately respawned on decon. I'd say you would think they would just add a flag that would prevent deconning tutorial gear, so people could still summon bankers to grab stuff on new characters, but I suppose it's not too much of a hassle to make whatever you want them to have and then mail it to them. Or just grab what you want them to have from the bank and mail it to them. That is still definitely a super ultra tedious way to level a crafter, though. You'd spend less time on it by actually playing the game and picking up all the gear you find while playing, plus doing crafting writs for the inspiration, plus asking friends and guildmates to make you stuff.
I am just impressed people still do the intro quest TBH.
I like to play the tutorial for the story, which I think honestly is why most people play them (not counting new players who actually need the tutorial obviously). The only bad thing is I have 18 characters now, so if I want to do any tutorials in the future I need to do them on the PTS.

how do you mail items to yourself? lol (and yes there is a workaround if you send to a friend and get them to return to sender, but as far as im aware you cannot do that if you dont have a 2nd account involved (either another person or your own 2nd account))

When the game launched, and Khenarthi's Roost was a starter zone, my very first character spent 2 months there.

Point being, outliers like you, me, and whomever else, shouldn't be the cause of removing functionality of fairly harmless utilities like summoned merchants.

I don't recall reading anywhere, even on the PTS, that this tutorial area was being used to exploit the game financially.

..which also brings back the point of speculation, based on zero explanations given.

Prior to the recent re-vamp of the Intro Tutorial, I always created a new character and took them through the Intro when a new chapter dropped, so I could see that new content.
But now that the Intro pretty much won't be new content anymore, with the exception of having a new portal to jump through at the end for the newest chapter zone, I won't bother with it anymore.

Oh, duh. Yeah don't ask I'm not sure why I was thinking you can mail things to yourself when that isn't the case lol.

Would you not out level all the enemies and stop getting items or xp?
Before one tamriel the base zones had fixed levels for enemies and if you was to high above you stopped getting xp or loot.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I was there to level crafting, and research traits. The chests per area in Khenarthi's Roost is insane, as are the harvest nodes. That is why it is still a very popular cruising spot for high level harvesters to make their profits off mats.

Removing the ability to summon banker removes rpg options from player. If my elf is going to be an archer, she'll never touch any weapon that is not a bow. Same with my mages and staves. It sucks the fun out of any tutorial when job one becomes 'find a bow (or staff). I've often started games with my character already knowing how to summon a basic weapon of their choice.

I'm loathe to start any new character anyway (60/60/60 on mounts, 10 in Undaunted, 20 in Legardemain, 7 in Antiquities, whatever it takes in Psijiic to see portals. . . ). But if I do ever start a new character again, I guess I'll try to talk a friend into mailing me a basic weapon of the right kind.

I suppose you haven't done the new tutorial, but they fixed this. Right at the start you have every type of weapon available, and a tiny bit later you have every type of armor available. No longer will your hopeful healer leave the tutorial without having found a resto staff.
