DLC Question?

I play ESO on PC and XBOX Series X. I play more on XBOX than PC at the moment. I ran through the main quests for Blackwood and Greymoor. Needless to say, I have a ton left to do. But, I went on PC and I had crowns to get the Ascending Tide DLC. I started playing and I got murdered by every enemy from the start. Is it safe to say that you need to be a high level character before running any DLC from the game? I do have a level 18 character on XBOX and Ascending Tide will release next week. I also have ESO Plus on that account too. I was under the impression that the game and area you were in was scaled to your level so you could play through no matter where you started. Thanks for any feedback that can be given on this.

Ascending Tide is a dungeon DLC pack, overland scales to your level or rather scales your character to CP160.

But dungeons are intended/balanced for groups of 4 players, not to say some people can't solo them but they are in the minority and fully leveled and geared up when trying to do so even then mechanics can often prevent someone soloing a dungeon.

DLC dungeons in particular you will want to be a higher level before attempting them since there is a difficulty spike between base game dungeons and even some of the older DLC dungeons compared to newer releases.

I think all DLC Dungeons have a Level 45 pre-req, no?

As a general rule - most DLC Dungeons have some form of mechanics present for defeating bosses, so they aren't necessarily HARDER - but often require some form of group coordination, synergy with some enviro thing, etc.

That being said - if you are level 18, and asking these questions... you are on the right track! Don't rush to any level, though - whether trying to get to 45 to be able to start pledges, or even 160, where gear level is maximum.

You will have a broader picture of all that is available, and hence get more into the nuances of building your character, and, well - probably be BETTER at doing all of those things - if you play around and check out all the stuffs, IMHO.

I was XBOX for ~4yrs before moving to PC ~1yr.

Zone/story DLC will scale you up to CP160 if you're below that level, so they can be done at any level.

Ascending Tide is dungeon DLC (all the content is group dungeons) and I think those scale to the level of the group leader but I'm not sure. But importantly it's always designed for 4 players to complete as a group and will be very difficult (sometimes impossible) to play solo.
