Pirates of the Burning Sea had player politics - you could run for Governor of a port, like Tortuga. You get elected by having the most "influence" if I recall right. It was another take on PvP really. Kind of fun. I stole the election once.

But to be closer to topic: A working game. That's what I would like.

The only thing that I would really like to see ESO have that other MMOs do is more earnable mounts. As in, get them from completing content, or in the content, rather than crownstore. Otherwise I quite like ESO the way that it is, barring the performance issues of course.

Both WoW (and I think Rift) did this. I gained a really cool drake mount from a quest in WoW, once. Felt great.

Farmed Ashes of Alar on 10 toons once a week for 2 years :(

Me too. Never dropped for me. Daughter got it several times; SIL had 10 drops of it in the same couple of years I never saw it.

Ability to upgrade fishing rods from a stick and string
    - public auction house
    - dedicated classes, class skills, class armor
    - separate PVE, PVP, PVPE servers
    - no bar swap crap

Forgive me for cherry picking some quotes - I don't feel up to thinking right now (abscessed tooth....)

Transmute crystals for certain daily quests (not writs for sure though).
Removing skill point and skill line grinds for alts completely.
Non-automated group finder (you can post what you want to do, expectations, etc. and join groups)
Stat/gear requirements for roles in instance queues, or at least a role change cooldown (also saved in armory)
Remove crates, put content as rewards in game
Scrap intentional inventory bloat and remove f2p, sub only.
    Remove crowns from sub
Put all functional crown store items in game.
Allow players to lock story quests to be played in order of release (I would say by default even).
Allow dungeon and trial weapons to drop from first bosses, last boss only drops jewellery.

This, a million times over. There are too many items that are too large to use in the smaller houses, and too small to be used adequately in larger houses.

Everquest 2 has a mount specifically for vampires that turns you into a flying pile of bats ... I would pay some serious $$$ just to have a mount like that in ESO for my vampire ...

I would also love it if they added in those skull and bone piles that we see on the floors in some dungeons ...

I would enjoy this. It wouldn't have to be a lot. And they could give a gold or crystals option. There are times I would want either, and it could make sense to have a choice.

    In no particular order:
    -Increased overland difficulty
-Explorer mode for dungeons and trials
-Increased difficulty for story boss encounters
-Skills/sets balanced separately between PvE and PvP
-Mature story writing (please stop recapping events that literally JUST happened)
    -Complex villains with compelling goals
-The ability to select which instance/shard of an area you want to join
    -Auction house
-Commendations for dungeon finder (encourage positive interactions)
-A companion smartphone app (view characters, inventory, banks, horse training, item research statuses, etc)

Well, the concept "Not Invented Here" NIH is the bane of many endeavours and is certainly applicable to many MMOs, present company included.

The ideal would be to "steal" the best and leave the rest.

    1. a Barbershop. Sometimes a full make-over can freshen up a stale character.
    2. Auction House. It will never happen here, but I prefer a central hub for buying/selling.
    3. Wide variety of mounts that are earned by playing the game. The reliance on the Cash Shop for this is disgusting.
    4. Better communication. Just stop ignoring your customers. S.t.o.p. i.t.
    5. XP going to both bars, if you use both bars. Come one, other games do this. There isn't a technical limitation.
    6. In general, more items earned in game, and less reliance on the Cash Shop. It feels more and more like Black Desert Online every year.
    7. Short races. Plus++ sized options. In general, better diversity in character creation.
    8. Better communication. Oh, been there already. Well, can't stress it enough, can we?

Guild perks which grant certain items or advantages (lower prices and so on).

    1) Guild Halls - big old castle that guild leaders have access to a bunch of new things that is not available using our current housing as a guild hall.

A guild hall area that has monsters around it and guild events that happen near the hall that award Guild currency to the player and the guild. Also running dungeons, trials, winning in battle ground, capturing a keep when grouped up with your guild mates earns currency as well but not as much as guild events in the guild hall zone area.

For players, the guild currency can used to buy guild vendor items (gear that has improved stats when grouped up with other guild mates, potions, poisons, xp scroll, ap scroll, etc...

The currency that a guild earns based on the number of guild members that part take during an event can be used to upgrade the guild hall structure that provides options down the road for improved vendors, crafting stations, guild hall furniture, etc...

    2) Battle Ground but it would be guild vs guild for 12 v 12. It would part take in one of the guild halls mentioned above

    3) Flying Mounts (limit how high we can go up maybe no more than 30m and flight is disabled in PVP zones)

    4) Pointy Stick - the most embarrassing way to die in PVP by someone killing you with a pointy stick, i mean it is just a stick that does 1 damage.

Those are just a few things I enjoyed in other PVP games.

I'll pull from old school workings.

Keep the loot crates, but every item available in boxes should be grindable or a random drop from dungeon bosses, world bosses. Finding scraps of items in Public dungeons etc.

Anything should be in the game world as an option not just behind a pay wall.

Good idea and something I thought about, I tend to leave my alts in one city and assume this is pretty common.
Now then you return to character selection keep instance data in memory and if in the same location keep the instance and just replace character and update location.

    - A proper guild hall system, not having to give up my primary residence to be a hall of crafting tables :/.

    - On the switching alts idea, Everquest had a feature where you could type "/camp [character name]" and the game would log you out and into the character specified. When it comes to writs and other daily activities this would save so much time because instead of unloading and loading all addons it would preferably keep things loaded for the next character or at the very least allow you to walk away from the computer without needing to do another step in between getting to play again.

Being able to mark a location, and then later creating a portal to it for myself/my group.
(Honey! Come see the neat thing I just found!!!)

Flying. Or at the very least, gliders. But, no, for real, flying. So sick of mmorpgs forcing you to stay on the ground, when we have MAGIC, and enormous beasts capable of carrying us.

I really like the idea of a central Auction House but, by contrast, I also like how ESO has separate traders, as that lends a nice air of realism, by creating vibrant marketplaces filled with "barkers". I'd like to see, somehow, these two systems integrated into one such that guilds still need to buy a Public Trader, who appears in one location of your choosing, but that trader then links to a universal list of wares. If someone then uses your trader because they are nearby, the guild gets a cut as a convenience tax. This would save an enormous amount on their database size and load, by not having to maintain all those separate inventories of traders.

NO ZONING inside dungeons. Doors should not portal us while in a dungeon. They should all behave like the new doors/gates in ShipWright.

Bigger friends list. Guilds are 500 max. And we can have 5 guilds. But friends are only 100????

FIX long standing bugs, like the stupid crocs that block the door in Sewers. If a mob cannot path you in 5 seconds flat, *release combat* FFS. Or, if the eyeball shuts, *release combat*, period, full stop.

It's been said before, but it needs to be said again: SPLIT pvp versus pve, *properly*. Quit penalizing one group of players with nerfs based on the other set of players. Separate gear, CP, skills, morphs, etc, all via the simple addition of a new tab. When you zone into a BG or Cyro, that tab becomes active. Or, better still, normalize gear/spells/levels for all players in PVP, giving them the same finite list of possible gear/spells, such that everyone is on equal footing, so that *skill* and *tactics* are the deciding factors.

Why do I have to choose between only a random normal **OR** a random veteran dungeon? Why can't I queue for both? Can you just add the two random flavors of randoms to the same place where we find the list of dungeons that we check off so I can just clickclickclick a few boxes and Q for exactly what I want to do?

Trials Finder. Nuff said. Spamming Crag is .... well it's just sad we have to do this. Really sad. Just add trials to the list of dungeons in the finder in a new tab. Simple.

Alphabetize the list of dungeons in the finder. PLEASE.

Add a list of dungeons to the tabs in the map, so I can easily direct port to them instead of hunting down all the maps trying to find where a dungeon I want to teleport to is.

Why can't I queue for multiple roles? If my character is powerful enough to effectively heal, -or- dps, -or- tank, because it's an easier dungeon that I'm queueing for (like, say, easy pledges), why can't I do that? Would certainly help the finder, eh? Besides, if I wind up sucking at that role, the team can always vote kick, right?

Guild Alliances. Two guilds join forces, their chats merge, along with their rosters, but Officer ranks remain Guild Only. This would help smaller guilds become more social, methinks. Increasing social interactions cannot be a bad thing, eh? :)

Actual Guild Halls that can hold the full 500 people a guild can hold. It does NOT have to be "housing" where it can be decorated or anything as I'm sure the game engine cannot handle that. Instead, make it a premade auditorium style arena so that the Guild Leaders and Officers can address the entire guild at once, and so forth, so that we can have REAL guild meetings and get-togethers/BBQ/etc.

Why can't we use the random finder with 2 or 3 people, instead of *requiring* 4, and zone in?? If me and my bestie can duo any dungeon that might be given to us in the finder, why can't we do just that? And, yes, I agree that this may *reduce* socialization to a certain extent but, well, here's the thing.... The server is not always well populated enough to get a group during off-peak hours, especially for DPS players. Add one single extra button to the finder, next to the Join Queue button, that says "Hey, go right on in!!" and we would then get the bonus for the random when done.

Ok, heh, sorry, this got longer than I expected!!! *blushes* Thanks for reading this far :)

Auction house in ESO has two issues, one is user base and the second is performance.
WOW has over hundred servers for EU, ESO has 6 totally.
In practice the WOW servers act as ESO guild traders in fragmenting the marked.
If you had one million players using one auction house you would have two effects: for cheaper stuff all would underbid each other until cost fell below the npc trader prices.
For more expensive items people will aim high and it will also be an marked who is much easier to manipulate, gold upgrade mats and heartstone cost would skyrocket as rich players could corner the marked something who is very hard to do in ESO but pretty easy with an central auction house.
Second is performance, now you could probably solve this with separate servers for this including database servers, but this adds cost for somthing who would not work well because above.

Re cornering the market, on PC it's really quite easy to do. Tamriel Trade Centre exists. And once it arrived the logic for having no central auction house evaporated.
