To be fair...
Asking for an update after 3 hours of emergency maintenance, when an event is at its end, isn't the same as bugging someone every 5 minutes. I am actually surprised at the restraint a lot of people are showing!
It’s almost like some of you have never worked in an office or for a large company before.
Boss: “What’s the ETA? People are upset.”
Overworked Underpaid Employee (OUE): “I’m working on it as fast as I can.”
Five minutes later…
Boss: “You got an ETA yet? People are getting REALLY upset.”
OUE: “Still working on it…”
Five minutes later…
Boss: “OK, I need an ETA now!”
OUE: <thinking to themselves that they could get the problem fixed a lot faster if the boss would just leave them alone for more than five minutes…>
