• [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for patch maintenance – March 9, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 16:00 UTC (12:00PM EDT)
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – March 11, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 1:00PM EDT (17:00 UTC)

Please shut down servers and try to fix game again.

Today's maint was/is an obvious failure to the point that nobody can play as intended. So many basic errors even when logging in or swapping toons. There are no options to go to IC or Cyrodiil in game right now. Pressing L displays a blank menu screen.

Please just shut it down until you can make it work so all us players aren't always dealing with this. Stop taking our money and let us move on if this is how it's going to be.

    There is an exception for emergency fixes, per the devs. Not being able to access significant parts of the game would qualify, I’d think.

    If this is true (not saying it is or is not) then I would say drop Google Stadia...

    There were no client changes with today's pc/NA maintenance (especially as pc/EU never shut down). So I don't think this falls into an area where stadia timelines are an issue.

    What's up with the infinite loading of character...? So many days since patch gone live to investigate and fix the basic issue of the game.

    As predicted, the scheduled maintenance was not intended to fix the current issues that ZoS are working on, so we should not expect any progress on the problems until ZoS say so, it has been 5 days since @ZOS_GinaBruno reported that they were working on it, and advised players to remove add-ons. It is extremely frustrating and in my example, I have gone from playing the game for five hours a day down to probably 30 minutes or less and about the same amount of frustration, so it is best to just walk away and do something else. Five years of playing and, for me, the game is broken.

    Long load sreen first login, no it was not cold sharded, crash on logout. Second character, long loadscreen after (unusually quick) dungeon finder when entering dungeon. Rare crashes on PC. Something went wrong during maintenance.

    Think back to when they optimized the game code and actually streamlined it to some extent. Stuff was faster.
    Then the next update they introduced Stadia implementation and performance was back to pre-optomized standards.

    I wonder how much 'business' they picked up by adding Stadia, but I doubt it was worth re-borking the code.
    The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

    I dont think even Google wants Stadia anymore lol, for every news article promoting their "were doing more games this year!" there are three more saying Stadia is being scaled back and various people are quitting :sweat_smile:

    Another poster mentioned that things were running very smoothly just before Stadia, and I have to agree. That patch, and ever since, every single time ZOS has said that they were "improving" something, it's gotten MUCH worse.

    I never, *ever* saw "Requesting Character Load" prior to that. Zoning from one area to another was ... TOPS.. 3 seconds? prior to that. And I could go on and on.

    Reverting the code back to pre-Stadia patches would suit me JUST FINE.

    Absolutely incorrect, as I would. I recently went on a trip and couldn't bring my 17" stupid-thick laptop. Took a 11" Lenova Duet Chromebook and was able to play and have an awesome time.

    Only problem - no add-ons. XD

    It also lets me farm on my phone if I have access to wifi and need a break from the dumb at work.

    Outdated Code Creep. It will appear as if everything is fine, but all it takes is a line or two and it will crash a large section of values. Early on, a game can get away with it by implementing some hot fixes, but eventually, it will creep along into something monstrous if the entire code pathways aren't fixed.

    [snip] It can use almost 25GB/hr, and I'm sure most people don't have that kind of money to spend on their ISP bandwidth caps. It's also currently in 3rd place, Nvidia and XBox being the primaries, and the way Stadia is implemented they will never be in the top contending placemarks.

    So in your view, everyone who wants to play ESO should suffer because a few people want to farm mats on their phone from remote locations?

    Sure seems like you're missing the point of what kind of game ESO is. Farmville or Candy Crush are for the phone. ESO is for PC's.

    I logged in to the game, the moment my character loaded, a 'servers are coming down in 5 minutes' message popped up, I was like '...okay then' and logged back out :lol:
