A conversation I have with my game, every time I play

ME: OK, time for my opening attack...
GAME: Sorry, you're on the wrong bar. I'm going to do the stupid thing instead.
ME: No!
GAME: It's not my fault you can't keep track of what bar you're on.
ME: Fine. Switch to the other bar and do the... no! You did the stupid thing! Again!
GAME: I'm only doing what you tell me.
ME: STOP DOING THE STUPID THING.
GAME: Then stop telling me to do the stupid thing!
ME: I clearly pressed the button to switch to the other bar.
GAME: I can't switch to the other bar until I finish doing the stupid thing. If you tell me to switch to the other bar WHILE I'm doing the stupid thing, I will ignore it and finish doing the stupid thing.
ME: Gah! You're doing the stupid thing AGAIN!
GAME: That's because you pressed the button for the stupid thing again!
ME: I SWITCHED BARS
GAME: WE ALREADY COVERED THIS
ME: How can you not notice when I'm switching bars but you're right there and ready to activate the stupid thing every single time?
GAME: I already told you I ignore what you do while I'm finishing up the stupid thing. It's not my fault that when I stop doing the stupid thing, you tell me to do the stupid thing again.
ME: ... well, now I need to do the stupid thing.
GAME: You're on the wrong bar. We're attacking now.

My crystal frags and unstable blockade are on the same key, different bars. I always get caught in crystal frag loops trying to switch > blockade during the animation and getting the timing just off. I feel your pain

It will be so nice if people have any option to avoid rotation nonsense

Shoot, I don't even need to get the timing off. I can spend upwards of 10 MINUTES waiting for a simple barswap, or a cast-timed skill to fire, or event an instant skill to fire off. Or to even log out of the game when I throw my arms up and yell like Charlie Brown cause nothing else is working.

Cast Wall of Elements, Failed to cast, target Is immune.
How is target immune?
Why is there a target in the first place?
Isn't it a ground slam attack?

I wonder if there’s an addon that would let you display both bars on the screen at the same time, and automatically switch the bar for you depending on what skill you press?

Based on how the default setup works and what you'd need to do to work around it, I think that would probably wander too far into macro territory to be allowed in game.

Basically what you want is the classic MMORPG where you could freely have like 30 skills / items / potions on the bars at the same time and press any of them. But since ESO is multi-platform and there's only a few buttons on gamepad we got this "5-slot bar with a switch and 1 quickslot with a wheel" nonsence.

How bout no more bar swap animation and and let it just toggle on screen in a snap. Boom.
The HUD could show a slightly bar flip itself and u could still get the swap "sound".
Like, we can just get rid of the swap bar animation for toons and I know I can get this to happen, cuz the devs can sell it to players as it's going to help performance. See. Simple. Just fixed the problem. You're welcome. I expect this change in a not so distant patch. I know, I know, you can stop thanking me. I do this because I care.
