Its the Explorer's event, not the Soldier's event.
AP can be used as currency. XP no currency involved. Limiting double AP events keeps rare items rare as intended.
"My statement is 100% fact. No one has to pay anything past the $10 fee for the base game (one sale) to participate in all PvP available in the game. So while I expect many PvP players to spend money on the game it is the cash shop or on PvE.
So as I clearly stated, encouraging PE is where the money is. I guess I did err in leaving out the cash shop."
You can participate in PvE with just the one time fee if you so desire. Thing is many sets good for PvP can only be obtained doing PvE content. If those in Cyrodiil want the latest and greatest they purchase the expansions just like the PvE crowd.

The red cp tree is the most valuable one for pvpers, since nearly all of them are useful for this activity. So pvpers benefit from double xp.
What about the cornflowers and columbine that are lying around when riding from keep to keep? Yeees, double loot too!

So to benefit PVP players we would actually have to not play PVP?
At least give PVP players double XP on player kills if they are not already doing so.

I just find it incredible that after Matt Firors statement to the PvP community in January nothing has happened since.
Yes we had Midyear Mayhem last month but we always have MYM in February so that's nothing new.
Yes they announced some exclusive PvP styles in the debacle of the chapter launch aftershow. But that's not PvP. Thats fashion.
This event would have been a great opportunity to give something extra to the PvP community. Instead once again we are ignored in favour of PvE.
This is just not acceptable.
Well, hold on, they've just wrought havoc on essentially everything else in the game to reduce the server load. I seriously doubt that was for the benefit of PvE...

They didn't do it to benefit PvP either as they have stated the only thing that will sort the PvP issues is a rearchitecture of the servers.
And the havoc has borked the game for everyone, whether they be PvP or PvE, so I'm not sure what your argument is?
