Body Marking to hide "peek a boo" window in costumes

I don't get why people feel the need to almost defend the costume/their right to wear it the way it is? I mean, all the OP is asking for is a new fashion option to use along side the outfit to allow for more options, they don't want to permanently change or remove the window from the outfit. People are always in support of shortening dresses and root for showing more skin, but when someone tries to suggest that it would be neat to have the option not to, people seem to feel they want to take it away when they don't.

(sorry not trying to hijack the thread, I'm just sad it isn't getting more support because I like the suggestion)

I think its a really cool idea that would be useful not only to pair with these types of outfits but with other outfits to have a variety of looks. I mean, I cant count how many times I've wished that we had a skin that looked like different colors of hose/tights on the legs so that I could put them underneath a skirt or dress for a cute variation on the skirt look you can get with various motifs. Hose did exist in the medieval time period so it wouldn't even be out of place here.

@ArchangelIsraphel @SilverBride I took some screenshots of the two gorget body markings combined with the costume for you two.

And this one is combined with Painted Coal and Blue Strokes. Of some reason it is darker then the other colours it comes in.

And I don't get why so many pop into to defend the costume and say how they like it and revealing clothes when Silverbride just asked for a workaround to make the boob window less noticeable.

Edit: Some more body markings from the body markings pack, there's a lot of the black+colour whole body paints too. There's also other body markings from crates etc that might work too.

I don't get it either - why some fellow forum dwellers went on the defensive that is - when no one was being attacked.

Is like someone asking 'does anyone know where can I get some strawberry ice cream to go with my cheesecake' and the replies being 'strawberry ice cream doesn't belong with cheesecake! cheesecake is fine as it is! go eat banoffee pie instead if you want to eat it with strawberry ice cream!'

As far as I can tell OP is asking for sources of strawberry ice cream, OP is not asking to ban the consumption of cheesecake unless is accompanied by strawberry ice cream.

I'm not the biggest fan of boob windows, but I LOVE using tattoos and accessories to complement our skin-revealing outfits. One of my favourite tattoos is the Morag Tong marking for this very reason. So I support this idea. More body markings and accessories please!

Yes, there are plenty of body markings that will make the skin less skin and also .. skins!
BUT
It would be really cool if they added a neck slot that could hold either jewelry type shinies
or a pretty dickies for those that would like more modesty.
ALSO
Don't think anyone is asking for a repeat of the heavy hammer that the original
orc and redguard styles got hit with. Still sad about that *sniff*

I am holding a faint flicker of hope that if we ever get an ancestral Redgard motif, it's modeled after the lost original Redgard motif.

This is why people get defensive...there were a few outfit styles that also got "nerfed" to show less skin. It took years to get more revealing armor added in the game, and due to previous changes...I suspect that is why you get the defensiveness...which I totally get based on past happenings.

The fact that there is some more revealing armor was probably due to a lot of community pressure to get it and this outfit was never considered revealing really....so commentary that it is might invite the nerf bat.

That said...the fact that the new battle bra even exists makes it seem unlikely the nerf bat will swing!

I don't really have a preference for either.....each of my characters has an identity and the way they dress aligns to that character...so I understand that you have a more modest character.

I also like the idea of a lace look....I use the dragonsmoke markings to provide a similar look on some outfits...not so much for modesty as because it looks cool! I frequently wish for a more artful "revealing" on some outfits to enhance the usage of peekabo body art. Why doesn't the elven armor outfit look like the model in the cinematics????? Could have some real fun with body markings and the cinematic version.....

I do wish there was more sleeveless armor options too (without honking huge hip wader flaps).

Can do what they did with orc motifs. Give us an Ancient and Ancestral Redguard. The Ancestral is the usual updated look, while the ancient is the old one (maybe a bit updated texture wise).
I miss old redguard. The old heavy orc was a good change, but why do that crime to light redguard?!

"The nerf bat" don't have a chance to swing at all because ZOS no longer change things that has gone live unless it has a bug. Only 2 things has been changed to be less revealing, redguard and orc. Heavy orc had a boob window which didn't make any sense and might even have been missing textures. Revealing styles and costumes were unlikely because of "pressure" from the community and more likely because we had have those for a long time, they have been a part of TES for an even longer time and ZOS has been adding both revealing and not since then. It's more like they listen to things we want and do the things they are capable of than being pressured.

Not that it matter, because the OP didn't say or want any changes to the costume whatsoever.

I'm glad that others see my request for what it is and not as a request to change this costume in any manner. I would just like to make a feature of this costume that I don't like less noticable.

It's like the time I went shopping and found a blouse I really loved, but it was made of thin material and cut lower in the front than I prefer. I didn't ask the clerk to sew up the front or change the blouse in any way. I asked if they had any nice camisoles that would look good under this blouse so I could still wear it comfortably. They did, so I got the blouse I loved and they made 2 sales. It was a win win.

They could even create a set of body markings that come in different fabric textures and colors for this purpose, so we could customize our costumes to our characters' personalities. I'd purchase such a pack if it were available.

It really does bug me that few markings sit right in the "window." They are almost always cut off somehow or are barely visible at all.

@NotaDaedraWorshipper Thank you so much for taking screenshots! I love the way those tattoos look under the outfit, definitely going to save up and get the pack as well. Really like how the gorget markings create the illusion of a layer of silk under the outfit.

@ApoAlaia Great analogy with the strawberry icecream! Well said!

Also love your idea for a fabric texture body marking pack SilverBride. They do some pretty amazing things that create the illusion of scales and other stuff layering over the basic skin textures in the game, so I'd bet they could make lace and other mesh fabrics look really nice. Heck they could even add chain mail textures to the pack as well so that they could be used under armor motifs.
