Skyshard tracking work around

If you want to see determine the Skyshards your character hasn't acquired you there is a work around. Using the addon SkyShards ...
Open up the map for the area, select "filters"
Tick "Acquired Skyshards"
This will show all the Skyshards you have managed to acquire. If you then tick "Collected Skyshards" this shows all the Skyshards based on your achievements. Basically you should be able to use that latter to overlay with the former to show you which ones haven't been acquired on that character.

✭✭✭Thank you for the work around but after 8 hrs in the new world of Awa I have learned not to care. Everything has been done on my main and is now too confusing for my alts. I plan to stop playing them or maybe deleting them.
If they let this go live after all the feedback, it seems to me it is useless to play any alts.14 -
xXSilverDragonXx✭✭✭✭✭Is this why my skyshards are scewed up on one of my characters? The skill point finder I have on one says one thing and on the character it shows something different. I was trying to figure it out for an hour. I never had a problem with that before. I'll have to check if I can login again, but now I suspect it might be determined in part by my main who has done the most of them.0 -
lurkin777✭✭✭This kind of works but I changed the line in the lua that lists the skyshards unknown so the it doesn't check the completed so it shows all skyshards and then turned on the shows skyshards I have gotten in the maps.
this is the line that I changed: elseif shouldDisplay and numCompleted == 0 then
I changed it to this: elseif shouldDisplay then
because it uses achievements to determine numCompleted
So the completed skyshards show up solid white and the not discovered ones show non-solid.
This is because the solid ones over lay the non-solid ones.

Does this work for public dungeons like the group event?
That might show up properly on ulrich's skill point finder. It seems that is working for individual toons as best as I can tell, but with the shards, it says you have x many done in a zone, but doesn't tell which. So it tracks the character specifically. I would recommend using that addon if you don't mind using addons. For some things it can help clarify what character did what, but in the case of shards, you can't see which you did. Just the number that was done.0 -

✭✭Didn't work for me, in the sense it was fine to identify which skyshards a specific character didn't have at first. But then I collected a few on that character, and those ones no longer showed up as collected, presumably because it didn't mark the achievement as complete.
This is definitely the worst part about this change for me.0 -
xXSilverDragonXx✭✭✭✭✭It looks like each toon did them when some didn't. My lowbie who has basically done only dungeons since level 10 and only picked up 2 shards in total is reading as having them in zones where she doesn't even have a shrine. what a clusterfk1

You can hover over the skyshard progress bar on the left of the map to display the checklist of shards remaining for that character. As well as hovering over the skyshard icon in zone guide.[PC/NA] @silvereyes | My Addons on ESOUI.com0 -

The zone guide will tell you (and tell you the hint to finding it). So you just need to hover over each skyshard to see the hint for it, if it matches one in the zone guide its one you need.0 -

I'm also having issues and the trouble is that Skyshards are not even showing up on the map on my alts so I can't even hover over them. I have the addons but they are not functioning properly either and it's really put me off hunting shards.1 -

For all other zones, I see the skyshards the current character has found when I hover over the bar. In the Deadlands only, I get account results.2 -

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

oh im sure, i just dislike the implementation, i mean its the same ridiculous reason the maelstrom completion achievements are individual per character, but the ones for vateshran are account wide, there is no consistencyplays PC/NA

The hints are useless, except that they can let you look up that skyshard on a website. That is not good game design.
Those skyshards should be visible on the map without an addon. I have had to go back to using the web pages I used on console (a bad thing there too) to know where a skyshard I still need is. Breaking addons for this is very bad.PC

Awesome! Just tested it. My cyro shards look a bit off but every other zone working fine. Thank god for that. Hopefully that'll calm some of it down anyway. Thanks for the heads up. And ofc to the mods author/s.2 -

Its a bit like quests who is tracked on character but achievements for them are now on account.
I assume done 30 quest in zone achievement is also based on all alts just like master crafter
Grinding just make you go in circles.
