Ranged Weapons Preferences

I have a low level character, level 10, and I've been toying with the variety of ranged weapons and am curious as to what other players are using; Bow, and Staffs. Is one more beneficial than another?

✭✭✭✭✭It depends on what you want.
Resto staff only has its weapon attack for damage, but you get a whole healing tree. Destro staves do elemental damage, and lots of it. But if an enemy is resistant to that element, you'll have a hard time. Bows do use stamina for the skills, and you have access to a lot of poison-based damage.----

Shimond✭✭✭✭I like bow mainly because you can pull off a sneak attack with it. You can't do that with staves. Although on the flipside staves use magica for abilities, not stamina. So that could be better/worse depending on what else is on your bar.
Oh and bows also get a ranged interrupt if you morph poison arrow the 'right' way.0 -
sParkSnare✭✭✭Personally, I usually use a resto staff for single/dual target encounters (to take advantage of the magicka return) and a destro staff for 3+ mobs. I also keep my bow line leveled up (although I've put points only into Venom Arrow and passives) to deal with the occasional boss that has incredible spell resistance and/or likes to channel.0 -

✭✭✭The bow Is useful for a melee build because of Magnum Shot but I find the damage of all bow skills extremely pathetic. Bows should have had at least three times the damage but with actual arrows that had to be aimed and hit not homing sticks made of rotten wood.

reggielee✭✭✭✭I use all three depending on the fight. Healing staff for majicka return and healing, destruction staff for high dps, and bow for when i come up to undead or need a fast kiting toolMama always said the fastest way to a man's heart is through his chest.0
