Similar to errors like this on PTS.

I can log in, but before the character selection screen even appears, the game crashes.

Edit: The same thing happens even before login, if I just let the screen sit for 7 seconds.

Similar issue, except I can't even get to login. I launch the game, and it crashed before I even get to to the login screen. Different error code, but "application terminated" too.

My wife also has the same issue as mine on her rig. We both tried a "repair" from the launcher, to no avail.

I can also reproduce the issue just by double clicking eso64.exe directly, launching from Steam as a non-Steam game, launching from Playnite, or launching from GOG Galaxy. That last one just silently crashes with no error code.

I've tried turning off Microsoft Defender Firewall and Malwarebytes (they didn't trigger any events).

I've tried running as administrator as well. I'm running the latest Windows 10 updates. Nothing works.

The PTS client works just fine, FYI.

FYI, this is fixed by removing the following files left behind from an earlier Daybreak reshader install:

I had the same thing going on - silent crashes with no error message as soon as I loaded to the splash screen. Removing these files seems to have fixed the issue for me. At least for now.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by an ill-tempered corvid.

Please make sure if you are running the Daybreak mod that you remove it - doing so has fixed this same issue for other players.

i would also update the thread title, as the ESO launcher and the full bethesda launcher are 2 different launchers (the actual bethesda launcher is getting thrown back in the dumpster fire it crawled out of lol)
