Hello.

I'm sorry. I was holding this off since the introduction of this arena.

It's power needs to be scaled back.

It's the whole reason why I avoided going in there until today, I mean over time I may have gone thru one of the 3 portals 2 - 3 months apart each, but Man (!) I am telling you, that final boss is too hard. And BULL! (Now picture me swearing up a good storm, and I just tsunamied your house into the ground, when the earth opened up with a 5 city block sink hole) thats how frustrated I am.

I'm pretty good at where I want to be in life playing my way, and 30k to 40k DPS is good enough for me, I'm not really a dps kind of guy and done give a rats pink tiny tale about it.

Unless this game is going to be offered up as an offline service so someone can build up a companion bot mod and add-on, as an avid player, I'm simply telling you , that last boss mealboogie, maelbogia, meal lee bunbun bug, what ever her or his name is, is simply over powered and watching a youtube video to go into certain portals at certain times makes so much no sense at all since when you get back the boi bot witch turns full health again.

It's too hard, it needs to be nerfed.

She's hard until you beat her. Once you figure it out she is never hard again.

This is end game content so make sure you're build is actually up to snuff. At least all purple, correct traits, items, set pieces, CPs properly aligned, etc.... If you're still rolling around in mismatched gear that is "good enough" for group dungeons, you aren't ready for VH and need to spend some time farming and upgrading the correct stuff. Hexos Ward and Ring of the Pale Order both make this encounter a lot easier. Highly recommend you pick up both.

Otherwise just practice. It's all mechanics and anticipation. Once you have an idea of what each mechanic is, how it works and how it's defeated it becomes easier.

The final boss has a LOT of one shot mechanics. But once you figure out how to do them, it's not that hard to beat. There is a DPS race at one point (when the shades make the circle of death and go slowly towards you) and you just need to kill one of them to break the ring and get out of the insta death mechanic. But I am going to wait until my new DPS is properly geared before trying the arena out with them.

The last fight is mostly about position. You have to be aware where the next portal is that you need to go through while also making sure you're not standing too far from the centre for when the circle spawns. Yes, she heals when you're in the portals but there are three portals, after that she can't heal anymore.
And it's a dps fight, the faster you kill her the less you have to deal with the circles and the faster you kill the one mob you need to kill per portal the less she can heal up.

Im not sure how many this was on this try (maybe 1, or 2 down I remember lava one in back and some pipes in this screen) and this is the result before she one shot me:

I will see if I can farm that gear first to see if it makes any difference. And nope, I didn't know there are only 3 portals , As you can see (3%) getting one shotted had to start all over. **FRUSTRATING**

She does the big AOE and there is an open portal in the background so I'm sure you couldn't kill her anyway. You must do 3 portal phases before she becomes killable (so it's 3x of "you drop her low -> she does oneshot AOE -> you must grapple to one of portals and finish it -> go back to her and fight").

You can also watch Deltia's "one button no death" run, he uses templar with only jabs skill and explains what to kill first, what mechanics you should focus on etc, can be helpful for beginners:

I agree, at first I struggled with last boss and was overwhelmed by adds and overlapping aoes/mechanics. After I managed to kill her (with some destro ult burn in last phase) it took me 4 more runs to get trifecta there. Things get really easy after you kill her once and learn how to deal with her.

Don't worry dude, I struggled like heck on her the first couple of times too. Stayed in there for HOURS until I got it. Question tho, are you getting the buffs. like the HP and stamina/magicka buffs? This makes a MASSIVE difference to the fight. I went in there the first time not getting certain buffs and it was hell. If you haven't done so, I highly recommend you go back and redo it collecting those buffs.

Like a few ppl have said in here, once you get it, you get it and she's never that bad again. Just breathe, stretch your fingers, and try again. You'll get it dude.

It doesn't need a nerf at all.

As folks here have already said you need patience, the CORRECT gear, including Ring of the Pale Order, and knowledge - look at gear guides and final boss walkthroughs

Look up 'God Mode' builds by Lucky Ghost on YouTube - designed specifically for Vateshran Hollows and vet MA.

Dont ask for nerfs if you dont even know the mechanics. You need to do all 3 portals before you can kill her. Her hp goes down to 0% but she will not die. And the faster you do the portals, the less hp she's got. If her hp is back to 100% when you come back from portal then you were too slow. But your 30-40k dps is more than enough as long as you do mechanics and dont overburn boss. Kill adds if you have to so they dont pile up.

Be sure to kill the Flameshapers as soon as possible during this fight.

They were the main part of my "frustrations"when trying to clear it for the first time.

Something else I've thought of, this is a total DPS fight. I realized if I specd into single target damage (as a NB) I did a lot better.

Even with the mechanics, it's rarely beneficial to remove them all because more will spawn as you remove them. So learn what you can deal with and what you can't. Flamecasters are #1 for me. I will stop everything to burst those down because missing their casting animation is instant death if they start it on the other side of a shade tether.

The colossus can be an issue if you don't have a source of expedition or movement speed. But I put some CP into that on the red tree and carry channeled acceleration on my backbar. This made the colossus worthless because I could kite around the arena and they would never catch me.

So with me at least, with high single target, I was able to remove the problematic adds quickly and go back to the main boss.

Just keep at it man. You will get it with practice. If you think you need to take a break and upgrade gear/build/etc....
