Harrowstorms bugged?

Doing a Harrowstorm in Skyrim for the daily quest when all of a sudden receiving a bounty and a few couple moments later a 42+k hit by nothing visible that insta-kills me. That happend actually a couple of times. Here, at least 3 screenshots of me being killed by a invisible guard at a harrowstorm:
What is going on? What did the update today do to this game? Note that "Himmelrand-Wache" is a Skyrim guard which a) shouldn't be at a harrowstorm and b) not be invisible or anything like that

✭✭Never seen a guard near one but I haven't done harrowstorms in a long time. I have seen Shrike attacks hit me for around that much damage though, they are notoriously desynced from their telegraph for whatever reason and hit for about 40k+ if it even grazes you for just 0.5s.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Yeah there are guards near harrowstorms. I assume someone has been a *** and used dark convergence or such to move the guards there like how they mess up the guards in Vivec.[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!2 -

In your case it was at least visible. In my case there was no other mob nearby in one of my death and I just died. If it wasn't for the death recap I wouldn't have known what even killed meEdited by Kessra on March 11, 2022 2:43PM0 -
honglatongla✭✭✭Same Harrowstorm today, arrived a bit earlier. This one was just standing there, I think they souldn't be doing that and something seems broken indeed.

Kessra✭✭✭Will have to check it out later. I was doing the harrowstorm in the middle of Skyrim yesterday and I never noticed a guard there before. But as mentioned, I also saw no guard at all. I died like 6 times during that one harrowstorm and at one point I just laid an aoe went on distance, got a bounty and literally 2 seconds later I was hit by a 42k attack out of nowhere0

KMarble✭✭✭✭✭There should be no guards near Harrowstorms. They happen in the wilderness and guards are normally in cities. I steal and kill a lot and have never dealt with an invisible guard before. Also, the reaction you guys are describing isn't typical - it takes a while for a guard to one-shoot someone*.

*I steal and kill a lot, but seldom get into "trouble" with guards, but the other day I was helping someone get an endeavor done (rez a player) and it took a long time for 2 guards to kill my char, even though I was attacking and trying to raise my bounty.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭the guards do increasing dmg with every attack and do have 1 attack that is a straight up 1-shotter
the main problem it seems is that the guard is spawning too close (or even with) the harrowstorm since there shouldnt be guards out in the middle of nowhere, as none of the harrows are even that close to any of the townsplays PC/NA

There will be a fix ready for U33, assuming nothing pops up over the next few days (we are not anticipating anything popping up). Sorry, I should had expressed myself better. Yes, I know the damage from guards increase over time and that they can one-shoot a character. What I was trying to say is that they don't got from 0 to 100 immediately which seems to be the case with the OP examples.
On the screenshots I only see 2 or 3 actions by the guard each time, the last one being the one-shot. My limited experience is that it takes longer than one or two actions for a guard to do that.Thanks for the ping, @KMarble. And not a bother!

Kessra✭✭✭@ZOS_Kevin Those guards are not only located at dedicated Harrowstorms but also on certain world bosses like Ri'Atahrashi in Southern Elswyr. The spare innocent setting seems to work as long as you don't support players that have disabled them and lay down some AE effects and thus pull them into combat1
