2H Nerfs. A solo stamsorc's woe.

Solo stamsorc. 2H skill line enjoyer. Playing since last summer.

I'm disappointed by the stampede and carve nerfs because I'm using both on frontbar and now I'm forced to use them on backbar. I don't like wrecking blow as a spammable so I decided early on in my adventure that I will use these 2 skills instead as I like both animations and effects. I like that I can choose if I either want more damage or to get a shield.

Firstly, stampede. It isn't that great of a spammable to begin with, but I like the skill so much that I'm fine losing the dot part for coolness points. Now I'm losing even more (20% dmg to be exact) if I choose to use it on frontbar, plus the insane cost increase. So, backbar it is, probably with the maelstrom weapon that's bugged atm on pts (instead of the last tick of stampede refreshing it, so it lasts 15+7, they both end after 15s). Haven't done the math yet but I think maelstrom bow + volley on backbar is still more dmg (imagine having 14 weapon enchants in the game and 1 is by far the best). I don't feel that stampede spam was a problem in pvp, but I'm not that experienced so I'm gonna leave it to others to talk about that.

Secondly, thoughts on carve. I cant even begin to understand what was the reasoning for this change. As I see it, you want this on your front bar (it doesn't trigger wpdmg enchant on backbar), as either spammable or close to that, to keep up the shield from the base skill. Yes, the dot was overtuned, so how about we turn down the damage a bit? That's what they did. But wait, instead of keeping the same functionality, we nerf the damage even more because we now have increased duration on a skill that it's supposed to be used quiet frequently. So you either spam for the shield and lose the dmg or backbar it, use it 3 times for the 30s dot and just forget about the shield.

Thirdly, aesthetics. This might sound weird for all the dps freaks out there, but I care about how my characters and skill animations look. If I'm doing a green/blue theme with lightning shooting out of my hands, I don't like seeing red and yellow on me. There's a limit, as I would still run +wpd enchant on backbar because there's no alternative (you get a red glow on character when it triggers), but having to deal with the clunkyness of wrecking blow, that also makes my weapon look a disgusting uneven orange is a no-no. This is the reason I'm losing dmg trying to have a decent 2H spammable. I was fine with losing X dmg because of the use of non-conventional skills as spammables, but this is too much. Should probably switch to snipe/aa/snipe/aa...

TLDR: Was using stampede/carve as semi-spammable front bar skills and now I'm forced to use them backbar-only because I'd lose so much dmg otherwise.

    I am a bit disappointed too, I was using carve on the front bar coupled with the 2H DSA for soloing.

    I actually chuckled when I read the dev comment that said that 'the ability was too 'swingy' and had to be altered'.

    Well of course it was 'swingy', if I stop swinging I lose the shield LeL.

    I guess I will have to go back to the boring morph (brawler) and take the DPS loss. Shame.

    It was nice while it lasted, but nice things hardly ever do.

    Meh I hear ya. Personally I go with the shield anyways because more and more in Cyrodiil I find myself duking it out with large groups and even in bats form taking enormous amounts of damage before I can heal or get close enough to hit them sufficiently. There are other ways to apply a dot though. But I can see why changes from your end are regrettable.
