Maintenance for the week of October 27:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – October 30, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
Hope we get full support for the Steam Deck. Valve has a certification program, would be great if ESO will work seamlessly on the Deck. I would buy ESO on Steam again if this will be the case!
I linked my old account to Steam and I can launch it through Steam or through the normal launcher. Works either way, but I don't think it records the hours in steam if you don't launch it through Steam. Its installed twice though so takes up twice the space.
Good for casual PvE but PvP and progresive PvE... Well nope.
Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.
"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge
Eh I already play ESO on my phone with Stadia when away from PC/Steam like in bed, in the bathroom or at work; all I needed was an attachment controller so I went with razer's kishi.
I am owner of a Steam deck 512 GB and have the non-steam version of eso to run get there but the gamepad is not recognized by the deck so currently not usable for me.
Test that it works I could by using my PC via steam link to the deck accessed to use my keyboard and mouse.
Alternatively, I could connect a mouse and keyboard via USB-C hub but remotely quickly test and set up was the first step.
in further steps I must probably test an Xbox controller with the deck via Bluetooth to pair many times I can then operate ESO ...
at the next Steam sale I can think about whether I buy the basic version of steam to test it or ZOS gives me a key what I do not really believe now ...
EDIT:
ok i am further ^^
I have now got the gamepad to run:
parameter:
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%
in the settings in the game must then explicitly gamepad mode be activated.
it works over game mode in desktop mode you dont get the onscreen keyboard overlay to login
