Why is the stun on streak even a thing?

Like seriously who in his right mind thought this is a good idea? Undodgable unblockable AoE stun tied to the ability that is a gap closer and escape tool at the same time? Don't get me wrong I dont claim that teleport itself on streak is broken, I think class deserves quick way to disengage but stun on streak in its current form is just a spit in the face of anything that can be called balanced.

No problem with the stun on it. Gives class identity like cloak on NB. [snip] you should expect it when fighting a sorc.|

To capitalize on the movement it grants you. Otherwise there would be no delay from when you streaked to when the enemy has already come in with a gap closer. It's balanced.... In it's own unique and strange way.

Mag sorcs are easy ap this patch. They also have limited bar space compared to other classes (more so in pve). I have never had a problem with the stun on this skill.

I don't like to deal with streak :) but I think it's fine, I use a gab closer and when stunned I have enough time to just break free and use the gab closer to stay on the heels of the sorcerer.

They have just enough time to get a heal or two in, without streak it'd be a lot easier to kill them which wouldn't be fair. :D

I hate streak from bottom of my heart, rather fight 3 cloak spamming NBs at the same time than fighting a freaking streak spamming sorc

I wish ZOS increased console sensitivity so it wouldn't took a year to do a 180 then dealing with streak would be much less frustrating

Even with FIOS internet on a PS5 I typically end up with bar swapping issues and all my abilities becoming grayed out in all PVP zones when near 2 or more enemy players. I am not even really playing during the event and I can't figure out how those on a PS4 are playing.

If I move away from enemy players usually 5m or further my character operates just fine. I have no idea why when I get within 5m of two players my stuff goes to crap. Also this only applies when I'm facing EP. When I face DC even with 20 players around me I have no issues.

I guarantee you that sorcs have the same issues with streak. I can't tell you how many times I hit streak 2-3 times and just stand dead still, and when streak finally does fire off, the 2-3 seconds worth of projectiles insta kill me when I hit may target location.

Stun exists because they want each class to have an unblockable crowd control ability in it's kit, hence why streak stuns. Templars are the only class lacking that currently but they plan to change it in update 33 so every class has an unblockable CC

They've actually done a decent job of making these all unique:

NB is an AOE that works in close range, or a trap that assists with escape. Each of which synergizes with the melee based toolkit.

Necro is a ground based area of effect, that ties in with corpse control and area control of the toolkit.

DK is a single target, melee range, that locks down single opponents to get dumped on.

Warden is AOE and tied to healing, keeping them in the mix of things and stunning nearby opponents.

Templar will have the ranged single target that also knocks down.

Sorc has the AOE stun tied to their mobility. Defensively, it helps keep them at range, offensively, it forces them into melee range to be effective. Forcing a sorc to either sacrifice range for an offensive stun, or give an opponent CC immunity to gain distance from them.

None of this even takes into account that every class has access to an instant, aoe, unblockable undodgeble stun in the fighters guild Turn Undead. A skill that provides Minor Protection, Minor Endurance and weapon/spell damage increase for slotting.

Stam sorc can Streak away from you, gap close to another enemy further ahead (Stampede), Streak, Stampede, etc.... until you are just a tiny speck back there on the battlefield. :)

Actually saw a NB today using the traps to protect a chanel (staircase or hallway) in front of her while she pew pew'd. I thought this was pretty smart and was super annoying when I was close to the kill.

Teleport itself gives identity like cloak. Expecting the stun doesn't suddenly make it balanced. If there would be 100k oblivion dmg cast time ability in the game would it be balanced because You can expect that? [snip]

Base ability already does that by providing stun at the beggining and end point of the teleport. And capitalizing on movement on that particular morph could be done in so many other ways for example by lowering cost penatly which wouild allow for even better disengaging. Also when it comes to capitalising on the movement I would say ball of lightning is the morph designed to do that. AoE 18x6 undodgable unblockable stun tied to the teleport ability is not balanced in any shape or form.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Unblockable stuns were just another way to remove counterplay/dumb down the PvP in this game.

Streak should stun but it should not be unblockable. This goes for a lot of stuns though. I’m not really a fan of the direction this game has gone in terms of game balance since Morrowind.

It's not dodgable and it has nothing to do with lag. It is simply undodgable, unblockable stun by design. Basically every AoE stun is undodgable. AoE abilities are undodgable by design.

In my honest opinion it's the "strongest" utility ability in the game.
It combines 3 utility abilities in one!
    Stun, Charge and "escape"(defensive) ability.

Maybe it needs to be this way because pets take up such a big part of the ability bar, who knows how the Devs think.

Far from the strongest ability, unlike the many abilities and sets that can't be, it is amazingly easy to negate. Not to mention, most sorcs would rather not "gap close", being as they can be quite squishy and die to melee attacks rather quickly and easily.

Far from the strongest ability, unlike the many abilities and sets that can't be, it is amazingly easy to negate. Not to mention, most sorcs would rather not "gap close", being as they can be quite squishy and die to melee attacks rather quickly and easily.

Yeah, I'd put DK Leap pretty far ahead of Streak for ability strength.

Unblockable stuns were just another way to remove counterplay/dumb down the PvP in this game.

Streak should stun but it should not be unblockable. This goes for a lot of stuns though. I’m not really a fan of the direction this game has gone in terms of game balance since Morrowind.

Remove counterplay? They are literally direct counterplay to permablocking tanks. Without unblockable stuns they'd be unkillable.

So because one balance issue exists your solution is to create a whole new balance issue to counteract it. Not a good look.

Same goes for AoE caps, ultimate cast times, frags/bow proc travel time, ability homogenization, etc. This game has gained a mass amount of players over the years and dramatically increased PvP rewards yet the PvP population has shrunk considerably. Feel free to have a difference of opinion ofc but the dumbing down of combat is a horrible thing for PvP (has been fine in PvE).

It’s dodgeable, tho that may not always be the case if the lag is too bad. Unblockable stuns are needed though, with a lot of permablocking tanks out there. Streak isn’t even as much of an issue as it was before either. It used to ignore walls and higher levels.

It's not dodgable and it has nothing to do with lag. It is simply undodgable, unblockable stun by design. Basically every AoE stun is undodgable. AoE abilities are undodgable by design.

Streak specifically has been made to be dodgeable, thanks to a lot of complaints. It quite literally says here: https://eso-skillbook.com/skill/streak and in-game. I’ve had plenty of people dodge my streaks. Maybe your dodge roll didn’t go through or register, which happens a lot.

It cannot be dodged. It was not made specifically to be dodged. It doesn't even say that in the link provided
