…trying to PvP as a PvEer. So, I kinda learned this as a PvE’r during this Mayhem Event. I’m a stealthy type, so this may help those similar to me. First, the chances of you striking your first strike from stealth’s Veiled Strike is probably not going to happen. Sounds great, but it’s rare. Only the best do it from that way and I takes incredible patience, which usually is not worth the effort in the heat of the moment. I have found, like many, that DW < 2H.
You use it to get yourself in position to strike from the shadows. But not as you may think. The leap ability is actually your way in. They won’t expect you; it surprises them, and it will shake them enough for your group members to take advantage of it.
You’re the trump card. So, you WILL strike from stealth, but not like close and personal all “Blade of Woe”-like. You survey the field, you see who is weak, and then you will strike.
I suggest front bar offensive for Critical Strike (your leap) and Uppercut with Dizzying Swing for that knockdown. Keep Resolving Vigor and Spike Bone shield on backbar for getaways. Keep Shadowy Disguise on both bars in case you get confused—it will happen.
If this seems like a no-brainer, please ignore this post. I try to be a half cognizant person most of the time, but sometimes I fail.
