Make Mayhem Monthly

I really am loving this event as a casual pvper. This week alone I experienced some of the best battles in Cyrodiil that I ever did in any MMO. IC too is buzzing and battlegrounds queue rather quickly. I personally think it would be awesome if the event was scheduled for the first or last week of each month. What do you guys think?

I also enjoy this event a great deal, even though I'm not really much of a PvP player at all.

But I don't think it should be held on a monthly basis, at least not if event tickets and special reward coffers were involved, because there's already too much grief among the players about this event and the related Imperial City Celebration.

I think the players themselves need to make it a more regular thing, in the sense of going to Imperial City and Cyrodiil on their own, without any tickets or reward coffers being needed to attract them.

If it were to be a monthly event, rewards would exclude event tickets and only provide double AP and conservative reward coffers.

Even if they did double AP weekends would possibly work.

I'd love zones like the IC to be more active, however.... Event Fatigue is real.

Also the reason the Imperial City zone died in the first place was when people got all the rewards they could out of it. Make it a more common event and it'll dry up into the same stale zone it's always been. I vote to keep it only a couple of times a year as it is now.

I wish there was an other option. I love this event as well, but to keep it kind of fresh do it 4x a year and have event tickets and such 2x a year. Also doing a weekend double ap event once a month would be ok just without the tickets and reward boxes. Like someone else pointed out in game event fatigue is very real, having an event without the added hoopla for pvp would be nice.

You know what they say about too much of a good thing!

As stated above, event burn-out is a thing.
Having this be a monthly event would actually make it less appealing in the long run.

Just enjoy the event when it comes around twice a year and it will stay special for it's limited'ness.

You can always still enjoy these areas without an event going on ya' know.

I agree with all the people saying if it happened too often it would actually be less appealing. Events get players to pile into a zone precisely because it's a limited time thing and if they don't do it now they'll miss it. If it was happening every month a lot of people would just skip most of them because they can always do it next month, especially if the event rewards weren't included.

I think there could be a middle group - like 2-4 PvP events a year (and maybe fewer PvE events to balance it out - with ticket prices adjusted to accommodate this) but any more than that will just be 'business as usual' and won't get the same reaction from players.

You forgot the option to reduce mayhem to "never again"... mayhem is a horrible experience! Any PvP is, after the PvE'ers leave.

Yesterday I only wanted to do one quest in the imperial city, and got ganked 4 times by players at quest objectives. Horrible horrible experience!

And for the love of god, remove tickets from events like these! Also stop forcing us into the IC by only making the outfit drop there, instead of from boxes!

PS: I do have fun in Cyrodiil, with the PvE quests only. Please stop taking my towns!
PPS: Remove any PvP endeavours please!

PPPS: I have not attacked any other players in Cyrodiil, unless they attacked me or were trying to take a town I was questing in.

I love the event too, but I think it's special because it happens once a year (well now with whistestrake's mayhem twice a year), if it happened monthly it would lose that excitement. I think if they fixed Cyro performance, and a lot of players would return, or play more often, and we would have big populations and many good fights regardless of events.

Make it a week long monthly event...
"Midyear Mayhem" should be turned into "Monthly Mayhem" as a one-weekend per month double AP event instead of the one or two weeks per year that it has been for the past several years. This would be a much more welcomed model to use.

Monthly Mayhem = 2 to 3 days per month = 24 to 36 days per year (one Friday, Saturday, & Sunday per month)
Midyear Mayhem = 2 to 3 weeks per year = 14 to 21 days per year (~12 days in Jan/Feb and ~12 days in July/Aug) ---- individual days and lengths tend to vary slightly every year for Midyear Mayhem.
This "Monthly Mayhem" model still provides roughly the same double AP time opportunities, but is spread out throughout each month of the year instead of twice per year as the "Midyear Mayhem" events have been in the past and present.

"Monthly Mayhem" would be much more stable, consistent, and better for the ESO & PvP communities' health & longevity.
Many other live-service PvP games offer double-exp weekends.
ZOS should convert ESO's Midyear Mayhem to Monthly Mayhem.

All of this. Have a PvP event once a quarter, and maybe mix it up a bit - Q2 is only Battlegrounds, Q3 is only Imp City, Q4 only Cyrodiil and the Mayhem stays as everything, something like that.

I already enjoy going to the Imperial City on a fairly regular basis to do all six district dailies outside of these events-- although the events are what got me interested in the district dailies in the first place. As it is, I don't need excuses to go to the Imperial City or Cyrodiil more frequently than I already do, and doing so would leave me little time for much else in the game.

Event burnout is real, and I wouldn't want to get too burned out on any given zone or activity. One thing I like about the events and the older (pre-ticket) annual celebrations is that they encourage me to revisit specific zones or activities for a time. With the game being as massive as it is, there are so many zones to visit and activities to do that I find it helpful to be nudged in a certain direction for a week or so, but then I enjoy returning to my usual scattershot approach to the game.

How about the first weekend of every month being double AP weekend?

I could go in, spend half the time on my many alts so I can get my transmute stones and leave the pvp people to have their fun the rest of the month.

And you are bound to get a steady stream of pve people who decide to give pvp a longer go as well as they find it fun.

Ah, yes, the old "I don't have fun in PVP so no one should ever get nice rewards for doing it so I never feel "forced" to do it" argument.

    No, to you.

And also, No, to the OP. I'm fine with having the two events. ZOS has sporadically done double AP times over the years if they were running tests, and I suspect that's what we'll get, along the lines of what they mentioned in the PVP Update

As cruddy as it is that PvEers have to deal with the toxic PvPers during these PvP events (and no, we know it's not all PvPers, just a number of them), it's hardly right to demand they remove PvP-based Endeavors. There are 5 daily ones and 3 weekly and if you don't want to do PvP ones just...don't? You can't expect the game to conform to your total dislike of PvP, the Endeavors exist for all types of activities in the game.

It is annoying how they keep forcing people into IC by removing the PvE option of getting tickets via the IC dungeons though. If a zone is dead most of the time and only gets any real activity when people are bribed there with rewards, it should be an indication that something needs to be looked at.

As for the topic itself, I actually don't think as many people would get burned out as many think. The majority of people in Cyro are likely PvEers during this time, otherwise Cyro would need all these extra campaigns all the time to keep up with demand. If it were just double AP/experience/TV, most of the PvEers that come wouldn't be there because the main reason they participate, aka tickets, wouldn't be available. Thus it would probably only be a much smaller number of PvEers that would regularly take part, ones who are only after AP for the dyes or TV for things like Prismatic Runes. The people who regularly PvP would be there anyway so it would just be a bonus to them.

I would be down for a weekend monthly mayhem. A week is too long, it would mean 1/4 of the year is a pvp event. 2-3 days a month would be more reasonable.

Rotating battleground, cyrodiil and imperial city focus would also be great with lootcrates and more ap/tel var. Event tickets probably shouldn’t be part of it either unless no new stuff is added to the ticket vendor and it’s only an additional way of getting them if you fell short of tickets during the last event.

Double AP is across the board, from all sources of AP gain.

I think what you are thinking of is the double XP, which is only gained from player kills.

Right now, we have two WSM/MYM a year, plus some form of IC anniversary celebration. That's three PvP events a year where I need to go to IC for a ticket. If you want to add a pure Cyrodiil or a battleground event to round it off to one a quarter, you would have a decent schedule. (Holiday, PvE, PvP)

Alternative: you could run put a battleground/Cyrodiil event the same time as Undaunted, so the PvE crowd can go run dungeons and the PvP go kill each other for tickets and stuff at the same time. Saves an event slot. Cap tickets to two/day (either from undaunted runs or PvP quests) and let players choose what they want for ticket runs. You still have two WSM and an IC event (though I'd do like year one: 2 tickets out of any of the three zones rather than 1 for Wrothgar:or Craglorn and 1 IC). So you end up with two dedicated PvP, two that you can do PvP or PvE, four dedicated zone PvE, and four holiday events.

I hear what you are saying and it has been great to have enough people queuing for battlegrounds, for instance, to actually have close matches. I think the key though would be to add more incentive and interest to play, perhaps something like the reward tracks in GW2 where you could select a track of rewards of interest to you — gear from a particular dungeon, crafting materials, etc. Because otherwise the rewards are very lackluster after the daily XP and transmute crystal geode. Also maybe, as was mentioned in the PvP update, weekend events of some sort — perhaps with special rule sets or something else to spice things up.
